If he only cares about the money, then sure, stay in Edmonton for the 8 year deal. But if he actually wants to win a championship, you have to think his agent is advising him to sign elsewhere with a legit contender. He sure as hell ain't gonna win a Cup with the Oilers.

Let it go. So desperate for revenge.

Joel Hofer cannot save the Oilers.

"Hofer would immediately be an upgrade on both Skinner and Pickard, and allows the Oilers to move on from one or both goalies between now and the start of the season. At just 24-years-old and with a good body of work already at the NHL level, Hofer could be the goalie that this team has needed for a long time."

All player personnel decisions should hinge on a need for the GM's personal revenge.

Please pay 4.6 million for Hofer plus a 2nd and 3rd because they have to re-acquire there own 2nd.

So much drivel. Hilariously mentions that the main two reasons they lost were lack of depth in defense and at forward, and goaltending (so the whole team then), and fails to mention that the oilers were low balling the two players.

Good luck getting Hofer away from a GM who said he’d offer sheet his own mother if it meant screwing over the Oilers.

I hope the hell he doesn't ask for a trade and either signs or plays out the year right to UFA because the haul he would get might just make the Oilers good again.

I presume McDiver has NMC, it would be funny if St Loo offer that and McDiver refuse to waive his NMC.

He would probably waive to do the Oilers a solid, it would be really stupid of the Blues to pay that much for a one year rental .

McDavid isn't waiving for anyone unless it's for a brand new long term contract from that team. If he's moved before becoming a UFA we could probably see a Tkachuk sign-and-trade so he gets the eight years.

The Oilers aren’t smart enough to trade McDavid. If they were, they’d be in talks with someone like Boston already trying to make a blockbuster deal like Pasta and/or Swayman+. That’s just an example, pure speculation on my end. The Oilers are riding or dying with McDavid, he’s one of the only reasons for two SCF appearances.

Next to Skinner he's their biggest scapegoat.

It would be stupid for the Blue to offer that much for one year of McDiver. I don't think Bowman has the balls to trade him though even with that return. I have a question, if it's a sign and trade, what the return would be? I'm thinking, hypothetically, the Blue got him for the year, and do a sign and trade.
