It's a star studded event and Felix is no longer that. I'm still clinging to hope that Felix is eventually going to see the light and get a new coaching team.
He recently turned 25 and his tennis career is at a cross-roads - I just don't think Felix wants to make such a drastic change otherwise it would have already been done. I think deep down he knows that a new coach would completely overhaul his game and that would make things very uncomfortable and a further drop in the rankings would also follow.
I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think Fontang is going anywhere.

Rebecca Marino is in the final qualification round for the US Open main draw this morning. Just making the main draw earns a player $110,000 US this year.

Watching a live youtube stream of Victoria Mboko practicing with Emma Raducanu at the US Open. The right wrist is still pretty heavily taped, but the good news is she's in New York and looks to be good to go for her opening round match.

Leylah looked super focused earlier today easily defeating Marino 6-2, 6-1. She looked really good.
Missed the match as I wanted to beat the heat playing some tennis myself. Rebecca saved three match points in her first qualifying match and ended up cashing a cheque for 110 grand US, so she can't be too upset. Leylah will likely play Sabalenka in round 3 if she wins her next match, that should be fun.
The Filipino phenom Alex Eala knocks off #14 seed Clara Tauson earlier today. The crowd was certainly behind Eala and that really got under Tauson's skin.
Edit: And what a comeback in set 3

We're in the 2nd set tie-break tied 3-3 and Djokovic looks done like dinner. Learner Tien is a nightmare opponent as he can run all day and will make you also run all day.
Edit: Novak does win set 2 and is up two sets to love, but is getting a visit from the trainer.

Bonzi had match point against Medvedev in the 3rd set. 5-4.
Bonzi faults and a camera man immediately runs onto the court thinking the match is over. The umpire gives Bonzi a new first serve because of this and Medvedev goes ballistic. The crowd starts booing ferociously and Medvedev encourages them to keep booing. The crowd continues to boo for about 7 minutes and Bonzi finally decides to serve through the noise faulting which causes the crowd to go even craziest. He loses the next point to back to deuce where Medvedev breaks back to go back to 5-5.
We're in the 3rd set tie break now and the crowd is still rowdy but quiet in between points now

There's no way Medvedev should still be in this tournament with that type of umpire abuse, but then again it's Greg Allensworth, the worst umpire on the ATP tour.
