Chatwood was one hell of a pick up. Almost makes up for Stripling lol

So many injuries, so many road games, still sticking in the hunt.

A win tomorrow guarantees at least a .500 road trip, and then a lot more home games for a while.

Also, after a very rough start for Thornton, he has got his ERA down to 2.45

Turning into a really nice bullpen piece possibly.

So far in two starts he's pitched 9 innings with 16 K's, 3 BB's, 0.89 WHIP and a 2.00 ERA

He's 20 pitching in AA

Unreal that the Jays with all their injuries and an apparently very tough schedule are sitting where they are right now.

Schedule has been brutal. Yankees twice, Braves twice, Astros, Oakland, Angels, Nationals, Texas, Rays, Royals and Red Sox. All but Texas, the Nats and the Yankees were leading their divisions when we played them, and we know the Nationals and Yankees are top teams.

To be 2 games up right now is a great sign for the Jays. They'll get a stretch soon where they can feast on bad teams.

The bullpen has been doing so much heavy lifting and really holding this team in the race. I hope we can get some good outings coming up from the starters so that the pen can rest up a little.

Serious question how is it that Vlad Jr doesn't know English when we was born in Canada.

He does speak English with an accent but it is probably a comfort thing with being in the media. It's hard to be in the national media at the best of times but when you aren't super confident in your language skills it could be extra tough.

Also note that he was born in Canada but was raised in the Dominican Republic - I wouldn't say that he's comfortably bilingual but he's apparently been diligently working on his English and breaks it out on rare occasion.

Totally a comfort thing. Encarnacion used to use and interpreter too. As did David Ortiz early in his career.

The ump is missing both the pitches at the top and bottom of the zone. Pretty brutal.
