I'm sort of checking in and out between clients, but so far this seems rather one-sided.
Rafa playing rope-a-dope?

In fairness, Newcastle are terrible. Just...really, really bad.
If they dont get relegated it would be a miracle.

Watching Wengers downfall is fascinating ... what a slow, painful end to what should gone down as a glorious career of a manager. Instead, people will probably only remember the resentment, anger and resignation towards his final years.

Wenger had his chance at the nice exit after last year's FA Cup win. I think he ultimately came back just for the games managed record. But with four humiliating losses in the last 10 days and no chance of winning Europa League, surely this is the end for Wenger. If he wants to salvage any sort of respect from the fans he should probably resign immediately. Pride before the fall yet again.

It's fascinating and in all honesty pretty sad. The guy should truthfully be revered and basically have carte blanche for as long as he wants. He's done so much for that club, and really deserves to be treated much better than what he is going to get.

I think that they should keep him, and let him try to win Europa. Sure...we all know it's not going to happen, but that's their only shot this year. I don't think that Burnley will catch them for 6th, but then again if you sack Wenger there's no guarantee that they have someone waiting in the wings who will get a bounce to finish off the season.
You know what....mark me as undecided. I can't figure out which will give me more schadenfreude; watching Wenger fumble through the last ten and bomb out of the Europa League or watching a new manager (please be Sol Campbell!) get wrecked as unmotivated players traipse around for the final ten games.

they should just appoint Tuchel. Sure, he didn't get along with Mislintat (who's now at Arsenal), but he knows Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan extremely well and I think Arsenal would flourish under Tuchels setup.

Really? I didnt hear that, I thought it was all about him and Zorc.
Honestly, Tuchel would be an excellent manager for Arsenal so I hope they dont do that.
And then Arsenal can be what Dortmund should have been. Basically Dortmund with money and no Bayern poaching their talent.
Manchester United can poach their talent instead.

Tuchel at one point banned him from the training ground.
That's what you get with Tuchel though: a good manager with "Pep light" football, but also a control freak who, if you believe the reports, falls a bit short when it comes to people skills. If you can live with that and don't interfere too much, he's a great hire. Dortmund couldn't live with that, but chairmen in Germany generally love to interfere a lot more than in England.

Very true on all counts.
In football you can be a complete lunatic if you deliver results. The Italians made a Cottage industry out of it in the 90s.
The Germans....? Not so much.

apparently it wasn't even the full quote. Old Piers has the full quote, and it makes even less sense than the snippet above.

hilarious. That's as close to Eric Cantonas seagulls line as you'll ever get.

Extremely poor from Chelsea, made virtually no effort to go forward. Looks like even the top four race is basically settled at this point.

City have 1 loss this season. Liverpool wrote the blueprint.
"Attack them. They'll never see it coming."
But if you sit back they'll pull you apart.

Conte seems to have lost all faith in Morata too. Having him on the bench in a game like this and only subbing him on in injury time isn't exactly a vote of confidence.

Davide Astori, a 31 year old defender from Fiorentina, passed away in his sleep last night from an apparent heart attack.
I know it's not PL related, but it's scary how often these hidden heart conditions remain uncovered. These guys do medical checks fairly often. This happens way too often.

yeah, incredibly sad stuff. Similar to what happened to Dani Jarque a few years ago, and it is shocking when something like that happens to a top athlete. Fair play to the Italian league for postponing all games, too ... putting UEFA to shame.

Cheick Tiote (former Newcastle player) collapsed during a training session and died at 30 just 6 months ago. In 2012, Fabrice Muamba collapsed on the pitch in a FA cup match between Bolton and Tottenaham.Luckily he managed to survive, although he was forced to retire. A Serbian player also died 2 years ago after collapsing in training due to heart failure.
Like I said, it happens way to often considering that the players are exposed to rigorous tests. Maybe conduct these tests more often? I don't know.
