Just like great QBs, there are only a few great coaches. A lot of mediocre coaches and worse in this league.

If Denver can successfully run Navy's offence they may be able to win this game.

I wonder if Football outsiders advanced metrics still think the Eagles are really an elite team.
I don't foresee the Eagles and Falcons NFC Championship game they expect.
Detroit with a great first half to hold New Orleans to 6 points.

I haven't watched the Philly game today but how the hell are they down 19-0 to Cinci?

Packers do not appear likely to run the table. Losing out is probably more likely.

With 10 minutes left in the game...the 49ers have -3 yards passing and have surrendered 5 sacks.
Truly remarkable.

Matt Ryan pick-two gives KC a 29-28 lead instead of a Falcons lead.

Kapernick gets benched after throwing for 4 yards in over 3 quarters against the juggernaut that is the bears. not sure why any team would sign this bozo

The best part is that Atlanta has to kickoff.

Seems like maybe Matthew Stafford should be getting a little more MVP love. First Lions win all year they didn't have to comeback to win. In the year of streaks and curses ending, maybe it's the Lions time.

Eric Berry is one hell of a leader. Minutes after the Chiefs beat the Broncos last week he said he was already looking at Atlanta. Today he pretty much saves the day. I hope they can figure out a long term deal this year. He's a guy who deserves to get paid.

Looking like a pretty rough end for the Bills playoff chances. Appeared in total control of the game and then one quarter later it's over.

I think the Bucs being in a playoff spot sort of sums up the current state of the NFL. They couldn't even beat the Raiders at home when the Raiders had 200 yards of penalties and got blown out at home by Atlanta, and then they follow those games up by beating KC, Seattle and SD. It seems the biggest change from the Tagliabue era to the Goodell era is we've gone from parity to mediocrity.

Except the fact that it's typically a group of the same teams in the Patriots, Broncos, Chiefs, Steelers, Seahawks, Packers, Colts, Bengals, etc. making the playoffs every season with a team or two switching in and out like the Cardinals, Cowboys, Eagles, etc so I don't see the mediocrity at all. Bucs drafted a good QB. They will be at least a decent team in the coming future so I don't think there is shame to losing to them especially the Chargers that are your definition of mediocre.

The mediocrity is in the quality of the teams. Yeah, the Bengals made the playoffs every year, and likewise won exactly 0 playoff games. There's a lot of average and really bad teams and only a handful of great teams. Even a team like the Giants at 8-4 really scare no one.

Handful of great teams like it's always been. An 8-4 Giants team should scare every team in the NFC seeing they have won two Superbowls in the last decade with 9 and 10 win teams.
