Yup. I understand not wanting to sell all the dlc exotics at once, but 1 new piece a week would be nice.
I'm sitting on 350 coins, with nothing to spend them on other than motes for exotic engrams in hopes of getting a new item.

I remember him being relatively awesome in the beginning of the last DLC. I'm glad that he's been nice enough to sell the Nothing Manacles.
The new hunter subclass looks a little lame.
I'm pretty excited overall, but I'm pretty burned out from HoW already, so Destiny might be put aside until that comes out.

Am I the only one that constantly feels like an 8 year old writes the scripts for destiny?
"Can you blame him? You killed his son, with his own sword". That trailer reminded me of the fake trailers at the start of topic thunder. Terrible narration script.
Im really taking my time with the new xpac. Still haven't done lvl 35 skolas. Just trying to play more casual and relax. September is still a ways and I'm in no hurry. With Batman coming out next week, and still working through Witcher, this xpac is perfect to play casual.
I haven't tried skolas post-patch.
No burn modifiers scares me a bit. Yeah, you're not getting one-shot by adds, or skolas, but suddenly you can't burn him down. Instead you need to run in circles, passing the essence around trying to get a shot in here and there.
Tedious.

I found it a lot more fun. Need a lot of communication.
I'm not a huge fan of the burn him down type of strategies, kind of cheapens the experience for me when the only strategy is to kill him before anything spawns... everyone is always in a rush lol

I love taking my time through raids. Not doing the oracles and templar from the ledge in VoG, getting across the bridge properly in CE.
The prison is just irritating, especially when you consider the poor loot. My first time beating skolas I didn't get the ship, shader or emblem because I didn't grind public events for a key to open a stupid chest (this was pre key patch). Once I get a solar six dreg pride, I'm not sure if I'll bother doing skolas again.

Yeah Skolas without burns is way better IMO. Solar and arc burns were just terrible if you didn't down him in the first minute. Void was the best up until the patch. Now that you're essentially forced to take your time and finish him properly, it's way more enjoyable. Lots more room for error too. The other great part is there's less of a need to hang out in the airlock waiting for your synth cooldown.

This interview with Luke Smith at Bungie is causing quite a stir in the Destiny community. Not sure who let this guy on the mic, but it sure was an awful awful idea. Guy sounds like a total prick. DeeJ is having to do quite a bit of damage control over this.
It annoys me how flippant he is with an issue that is clearly important to the community.
I'm not too upset about not having the few extra emotes personally, but you don't want to see someone tied in so closely with the development process have such a poor understanding of what the fan base wants.
I'm more concerned with the $40 for just the expansion. With a price that's 2/3 the cost of the original game, I expect to get at least 1/2 the original game's worth of new content...I'm not sure how they're going to do that with only one new location.

Crazy to see a former reporter/community manager who worked for the sake of the players only to have his new position blind him the way it does now.
Based on what was shown and impressions of people, if we're talking about amount of content it's more like a third. One new subclass, one new destination, 1 Raid, I think 15 missions with proper cut scenes and voice work, lots of different weapons with a huge reworking of the game's light system.
It's a little hefty but something that I would have been okay to pay considering the standard they already set with both TDB and HoW being $20 each, $30 together. Don't really care about the emotes (though the exotic class items sound handy), but it's a matter of principle. Will have to see how Deej's weekly update puts out the forest fire.

I'm not even really that upset about the $40. Comparing expansion prices with original prices is usually a poor exercise because it's rare that the value is that comparable for any game. Even $80 for Collector's Edition is fine for a first time player. The problem is how first time players get seemingly more content than those who have been around prior to Taken King, and how those who have been around longer have no access to it without paying for old content. In this case, I would say mircotransactions is actually the lesser of two evils. The player base isn't upset about the pricing, but the fact that they're being locked out of content that should be easy to make available to others. It's really a simple solution, but Bungie somehow turned it into a PR disaster.

And apparently I lied about this. My buddies did this yesterday. Lightswitch modifier makes this encounter pretty awful. I'm going to be avoiding Skolas this week.
