I thought they never got any funding from the Federal NDP? If so it's prob so miniscule their unite the left fundraising would be more.
and aren't they broke? The Feds.

I’m not sure how much (if any) direct funding they receive but it’d be pretty naive to assume that there aren’t some cost savings to be had, even the parties that on paper aren’t technically connected like the UCP and CPC work together to host events and provide support to each other.
I guess I’m just not understanding what you’re basing your assumption that fundraising for a new party would somehow increase. Keep in mind that there’s no guarantee that the AP agrees to unite with ANDP. Where do you see the additional money coming from within the province?

Quick Google search shows the conservative party has changed their name once - from the PC's to UPC.
NDP has had 4 name changes in their history. CCF to NDP to ND and back to NDP.

Not to be pedantic but if you are including the CCF as NDP, you should also be including the Alberta Conservatives and Wildrose as UCP.

Plus the NDP were also formed from the Canadian Labour Congress political movement.
I think the overall point is just that all parties change names and priorities over time and the focus should be on the policies and direction of the people looking to be elected over their current name or colour. But as we have all seen in practice, it is much easier to vote for or against a tribe than take the time to actually evaluate what that tribe really stands for.

Albertans effectively paid Preston a quarter million dollars to copy pasta his own ramblings into an official report.
The grift from the UCP and their allies is insane.

I'm sure the CPC supporters, who are up in arms regarding the LPC and their cronyism/corruption, will be demanding Smith resign immediately.

This new plan to allow NPs to start their own offices is incomplete.
The NPs working in the province now are doing just that, working here. In Dr offices, clinics, hospitals.
Shuffling the deck chairs around doesnt solve anything, just shifts the problem.
No plan to increase the number of NPs? Just total incompetence by this govt.

I think it might improve access with nurses practitioners able to have their own clinics but we will see. We have a long time to evaluate how well it works or not.

The Alberta government won’t confirm if it will follow through on its promise to meet with citizens face to face in December to discuss quitting the Canada Pension Plan.
https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/...1ff1cae1a.html
Dinning promised callers on Oct. 16 that there will be in-person meetings in December, calling such face-to-face events critical to narrowing down core concerns.
The NDP began holding in in-person town-hall sessions last week, with close to 500 people at an event in Edmonton. The NDP said the overwhelming consensus from those who came was to leave the CPP alone.
In question period Tuesday, NDP house leader Christina Gray urged Smith and her cabinet ministers to attend the NDP events and talk to Albertans.
In question period Tuesday, NDP house leader Christina Gray urged Smith and her cabinet ministers to attend the NDP events and talk to Albertans.
Horner, in reply, extolled the Dinning panel telephone town halls, but didn’t mention the previously promised in-person events. He also suggested Wednesday’s telephone town hall might be the final formal feedback session of the year.

Imagine paying Preston Manning $253,000 for him to just document the right-wing ramblings in his head that he would have just done for free anyways, had Danielle Smith asked.
The UCP doesn't even know how to grift properly.
