I have been very unimpressed so far . But it doesn’t overly matter for the next few years since this team isn’t competitive if it doesn’t work out . And if it does you have your Coleman replacement for the upswing years
I'm sure The Frost & Farabee trade will drive most of the GDT discussion, but I personally enjoy watching Philly these days just for Konecny alone. Would love to have a player like him on the Flames.
Edit: Whoops wrong thread, meant to post in the GDT.
It's a good gamble, but it's a gamble. There is a reason why the price tag was quite low.
That's the thing. Swapping Kuzmenko for Farabee, at a time when the team isn't in contention and has a zillion bucks in cap space, turns a dead loss into a decent gamble. Kuzmenko has produced a few points in Philly, but he's an expiring asset and might not even stay in the NHL beyond this season.
I think the other assets in the deal represent approximately fair value – a 2nd and a 7th to convert Pelletier into Frost – so I can look at Farabee vs. Kuzmenko in isolation.

I think that's correct. Calgary saved real dollars in dumping Kuzmenko, Philly saved continuing cap in trading Farabee.
I expect Farabee had little value at his cap hit, but we don't really know that.
So Pelletier has 1 assist in 8 games for Philly and Kuzmenko flipped at 50% retention to LA for a 3rd.
Philly traded Frost + Farabee for a 2nd, 3rd, 7th and Pelletier.
I wonder how their fans are feeling about this
If two of those 2nd, 3rd and 7th round picks turn into half as good as Farabee and Frost (former first rounders under 25) Flyers and their fans are laughing.

Short ATL Report:
Spoiler!
Pelts catching some strays (hopefully the Flames can get him back)

So Pelletier sucks… and now they ditch the other guy they were apparently targeting for a while according to them, for probably pennies on the dollar. f***ing eh. They know how to capitalize.

I hope they held onto the 2028 7th rounder from the Frost/Farabee trade at least. Need something to hold onto after Pelletier gets dumped soon.

I hear the 2027 third round is shaping up to be phenomenal.
Briere getting some love

Another Danny B special.
Garbage how retaining on this former 40goal scorer gets less of a return than Beauvillier.

Yep, something about losing around the edges, every time, a tradition that Dani learned from Chuck
Frost and Farabee
Quote:
Frost has to remember how to play real NHL hockey after years in this skill-crushing ####hole. We've had numerous players leave and talk about how they basically have to rehabilitate their game after being here.
Farabee too, on top of rehabbing the neck. That surgery takes over a year to recover from.

Personally, I'm less interested in knowing how Frostabee do in the immediate aftermath of getting out of Philly; I'd be more interested to see how they acclimate next year, after a full off-season under someone else's tutelage (and medical care, in Farabee's case.) I still have high hopes particularly for Frost, but players who need to unlearn bad habits, like over-cautious play, aren't likely to do that overnight.

0 points again for the Frost/Farebee due in Calgary....they now stand at 4 points in 20 games between the two of them.....wow.....
PS: I think they gave up a 2025 7th with Kuzmenko, so they cancel out.

From joy or mental illness?
If you trade 2 assets and wind up with something worth 50% of the original assets isn't that like...awful?
