Scotia already had an arena so I guess they needed a place just like Rogers had an Arena and then got a Place.

Has there been any talk of liquidating assists from the Dome when ready? I know in Edmonton they sold off chairs and section numbers etc.

ie: Scotiabank Arena is in Toronto, but somewhere else can now have a Scotia Arena.

I'm connected with someone who was involved in the negotiations, and I guess a big thing with the name was making it something where you have to say the sponsor's name as well. With the Saddledome, even though it's the Scotiabank Saddledome, everyone always just called it "the Dome" whereas in Edmonton, it's either the full name or "Rogers".

No one's going to be saying "down at the Place" but might say "down at Scotia"

But they are dreamers and structural engineers and want the work. I cannot see a business model where it would work.
