For me, at the 10,000 ft level, Canadian political division is geographical, but that geography drives the primary industry of each region. American political division seems very urban vs. rural. Most (if not all, I didn't look) of the major American cities are blue

230k people dead and a completely fractured country after 4 years of trump presidency. I just can’t believe it’s even this close.

I'm not shocked it's a close as it is.
All the trump fans vote for him, and then all the republicans that would rather die than vote for a democrat.
This election just highlights the divisions in america we've all seen.
I don't know why I had let myself believe even a little bit that Biden might get a clear cut victory.

Yeah it’s because (obvious statement alert) Americans have become so individual they literally don’t care about each other. So, none of that stuff matters.

That's the only path I see for him. 75% votes are in for PA according to some major news outlets, with Trump having a 600K lead.
Going to be a close call.
CBS news now saying Trump has a small lead in MI now.

Too many bible thumping wing nuts who can't even see who is responsible for pandemic deaths let alone destroying the foundations and institutions of their country.
Senate races don't look good for the Democrats so how is Biden even going to enact any real change should he win. For what matter how will any investigation into Trump even work if McConnell continues to block any reform or prosecution?

Thats what i meant. Typo.
Though it could still be more as it looks like Georgia could go to him as well with what's left to be counted.

My worry with a 270-268 election are the faithless electors. One faithless Biden elector and this thing ends up in the House of Representatives (for President) and Senate (for VP).
Have any of the states in the house flipped?

Yeah, I don’t know that I’d use the word “divided.” Divided infers that some kind of choice is involved. Red states are just red states, I don’t think it matters who’s running.

Biden might still get a clear cut victory. The mail in ballots coming late really affects perception here. He might win Georgia and Arizona which democrats haven’t won since Clinton. He will win the popular vote by 5-6 points.

He is ahead in WI and MI. With NV and AZ he doesn’t need GA and PN.
He will win today.

Biden now leads by 12,000 in Michigan and 21,000 in Wisconsin.

Bloomberg has the House at 189-182 Dem, with the Senate tied at 47 if that means anything.

That's what happens when you have a ####ty 2 party "democracy" system. Pick your favorite team and stick with them for life. Screw the other side because YOUR side is always right 100% of the time and can do no wrong.
Disappointing it hasn't been more of a blowout, but not at all surprising.
