Jays have been making some clutch plays on D lately. Such a change from early on.

What a terrible inning on offense. Guerrero zoned out leading off on second and gets picked off. Right after Gurriel grounds for the double play. Went from 2 guys on first and second with zero outs to 3 outs in a matter of seconds.

Love seeing Buck get wound up by the bad base running. He is not wrong and these are A ball mistakes happening.

Not a lot of room for error in that game, and the Jays were on the wrong side of the mistakes tonight. Liked what I saw from Merryweather. Ray and Shamaguchi were fine as well. The critical moment was Vladdy getting taken out at 2nd and then the team promptly hitting into a double play.

I wonder how long they let Mcguire go like this. Jansen too has been terrible at the plate.

Waste of a really good pitching performance with #### hitting and an error and bone headed base running.

My guess is that it is because, of the left handed bats they have available, he is the best option to be up there. They want to alternate left-right as much as they can, and I think we can all agree it shouldn't be Shaw.

I am usually a patient guy, but McGuire is batting .081 with an OBP of .081. He has 3 hits, 0 walks, and 9 Ks in 37 at bats. I am confident that I could do at least that well.

They have to do something about this.

Guerrero not in the lineup today. They will probably say that he is just getting a day off, but I am glad to see him sitting after that base running mistake. At some point, you have to take a tougher stand on these mental errors. You have to instill in the kids that it is not okay, and if you keep doing things like that, you won't play.

So good on Montoyo for that (even though I very much doubt he admits that he is benching him)

Yeah, I dunno what they can do now that the deadline has passed.

I just can't see Kirk being ready to face MLB pitching yet.

You could handle McGuire in the line up every few days if Jansen was at least hitting, but he's a black hole too. Hopefully he heats up, as he's shown a tendency to be streaky.
