1 game back of Minnesota for the 2nd wild card.
2 more vs Kansas, then we roll on to play both the Twins and Yanks. Who knows, by the end of the homestand, we could be within a couple games of the Yanks.

Really exciting.
I think Ben Reverse is a difference maker. Once he's in the lineup I think Gibby needs to rethink the batting order. Tulo and Donaldson should be 2-3.
Revere
Tulo
Donaldson
Bautista
EE
Martin
Pillar
Smoak
Travis (Kawasaki)
Makes sense to me.

Stoeten always nails it:
"It felt like playoff baseball. Even before the walk-off it felt like playoff baseball.
Or at least like what I can only assume playoff baseball feels like, because how the hell would I know?"

There's often excitement every April. Then frustration in May followed by annoyance in June and indifference by July

Finally took a seat on the Jays bandwagon.
Hated them in 92 and 93.
I'm an old school Expos fan. Huge fan.
1994 destroyed MLB for me.
But I guess 20 years later I can finally let it go.
I hope something magical happens.

If Revere was batting leadoff, we wouldn't have had Tulo/Donaldson combining to win the game tonight. Revere is probably the worst hitter in our lineup and he should bat ninth. Luckily, Gibbons agrees and has said that's where he'll bat already.
The jays are just too stacked offensively to worry about some old school mentality of having speed at lead off. Put one of your MVP type hitters up there and let them soak up the extra ABs. Tonight, those extra ABs to our best hitters were the difference in the game.

Really only watch Baseball in the playoffs, but its going to be hard not to tune into more than a few Jays games over the next two months

I was always a Jays fan first, Expos fan second - and most Montreallers are still the complete reverse, but it was incredible seeing Expos fans wildly cheering the Jays in April. The Jays did a great deal to help kill the original Expos, but it seems bygones can be bygones when Toronto comes in and help shove a "Montreal can support baseball" sign square into Selig and Mansfield's faces.

Really? I was under the impression he was one of the best hitters in the NL this season....no?

He is a great contact hitter and has speed which leads people to think that he would be a sound leadoff hitter. Unfortunately, he doesn't walk very much and thus isn't on base enough to be a sound leadoff hitter. The guys at the top of the order should be the ones who are the best hitters, and that is Tulo/Donaldson/Bautista/EE.
That being said, he makes the bottom of the order MUCH better which is terrific. I think it is unfair to call him our worst hitter. When healthy, the lineup can look like:
Tulo
Donaldson
Bautista
EE
Martin
Smoak/Colabello
Travis
Pillar
Revere
I suppose an argument can be made for Travis at the top, but I like that look. What a lineup.

Scary thing is, a .300 hitter might be the worst batter.

With 8 teams playing for two wild cards, the playoffs are now. Great move by MLB to add the wild cards.

With Ben Revere expected to play every day Valencia and Carerra are both DFA'd and expected to be claimed on Monday. Tough business boy. Both guys were good soldiers.
