I don't know, he can do whatever he wants in KHL, no need to defend and he gets the puck everytime they are in the offensive zone, no way he gets to play in the NHL with that style.

Barely noticed him? He had a 37 and 58 point season when he was 20-22 years old. He was on his way to becoming an elite player. In the 8 playoffs games he came over for years later he had 6 points despite all the bad press he was getting. That would be like Tarasenko leaving now and years later you say you barley noticed him.
Don't kid yourself, if he comes back he would be 70+ point player next year, that guy is that talented.

I'm not kidding myself, he's talented I know that, but he's not the type of player NHL teams are looking for, he's even worse defensively than Ovechkin is and he doesn't have the same explosiveness as Ovechkin does. Dunno if you've ever seen him play, but if he was in the Flames, everyone would hate him.

If Radulov came back as a UFA, i guarantee all 30 teams would be interested if they had the cap space.

Not saying they wouldn't, but as I said he would have to adjust his game completely and I'm not sure how well he would do when he isn't the team star and wouldn't be treaded(sp) as the golden boy

I saw him plenty when he was with the Preds, both his tenures. How much have you seen him play? The guy is a game breaker, just cause he's a Russian doesn't mean he's all skill and no D.
The night out in Phoenix? he has a different story.

Like the poster said if he decides to come over all but Nashville will line up to get him. He can play top line hockey and produce when needed.

I'm not so sure there would be a line-up to get him. He's good on the ice, but doesn't he have a ton of problems OFF the ice? I don't think he's a good team player.

IIRC, there was a story during the Olympics about Radulov and how he's turned into a real pro. Perhaps it was someone else but I'm fairly confident it was about Radulov.

If he has a good attitude i agree every team wants him. Great asset to spend a contract on.

I've seen him plenty, not just when he played in the Preds, but also in KHL. He totally dominates the KHL but the speed is so slow compared to NHL, he has so much time to do his magic, he's worshipped in his team, he can do whatever he wants when he's on the ice. I wonder how it would go when a NHL coach calls him out.

My brother went on a business trip to Russia a few years back, and took in a KHL game. He said the same thing-that its a very different, much slower game. The arena wasn't even a third full. Interesting enough, he brought me back a really cool keychain that looks like a little jersey with "Radulov" on the back. LOL

I would love the Flames to do it, as it is only 2 more years. 4 million cap and 525k actual might be more sell-able to the owners.
But BT can't be doing anyone any favors, its gotta be a good haul coming back our way.

this might be a case where the return wouldn't actually be great.
could be a piece to help a team reach the floor without spending a lot of real money.

Agreed. The value might actually be very slight. A team like Arizona might be interested, as they are icing an AHL team next year, but a team like the Flames wouldn't find any reason to do this.

If a team acquired both Savard and Pronger's contracts this summer, they could add nearly $9 million in cap space for a little over $1 million in real money for the next two seasons. I could see the Coyotes being interested in that.

I wonder if acquiring Savard's contract would carry enough value to allow the Flames to move up in the draft?
Eg. One of our 2015 2nd round picks for Savard's contract and the Bruins 2015 1st rounder

Quite a CBA that would allow this.

Duha on Fan 960 saying the Flames went after Tyler Myers very hard. He says at one point the Flames thought they had the deal done.
This was after Molberg and Warrner told him they had dinner with Giordano last night and Gio was gushing over how good Myers was.
He also mentioned that the Flames didn't have an Evander Kane type of player to offer, so you gotta wonder if track suit gate didn't come to light, Myers would be a Flame right now.
