I know Trials gear can. I got some nice rolls off Trials gears despite doing terrible in it lol. But the PoE gear so far seems to have just strength on it. But I don't see it as being a big deal. It's basically free 34 gear. Enough to get you rolling for Etheric Light. Once you get some more EL, you can turn whatever you want into 34 gear.

Super excited about IB next week. You can buy Etheric Light at ranks 3 and 5. And then playing with one character gives you a boost in IB for your alts. So there's a chance you can get 6 EL next week from IB on top of running PoE.

It's just been bad luck for everybody to have Variks with all this strength. Only two weeks though. Getting any of the armor is incredibly helpful for a particular race in PoE and almost makes you look forward to facing them.

For example my warlock has boots which give increased grenade and agility only when facing the Vex. I become so disoriented because of the ridiculous speed boost that only comes with max agility+Mida.

I have a feeling all pieces will be strength for boots and helm, then next rotation it will have a different stat roll, and so forth. Armor cores are pretty easy to get so bungie needs to extend the play time somehow.

And it also makes people use the judgements chance more since you can get a different roll. I've seen boots on people with full intellect. Some chest pieces that are INT+DIS.

Plus, like Andruil mentioned, each piece is going to have a different perk for different races so it's going to be even more key to have multiple types of the PoE. I'm more or less going to have my everyday armor, and then going to have my PoE armor...

I'm pretty sure all this strength gear is by design. No point in giving people a completely balanced build after just 4 weeks of playing... They need this to last 16 weeks, or more, before their next scheduled major content release

All good points! They might have to extend vault space if we need 4 sets of armor for each alien race!
I actually really love the looks of the new vanguard and crucible vendor armor, so I'm happy to ascend that eventually.

Beat skolas this afternoon.
Took 1 hour 40 minutes, but it felt pretty good to finish!
Just annoyed I didn't have a key to open the chest...at least I found the elder cipher.

We finished Skolas this weekend as well. It was actually pretty easy doing it with 3 bubble titans (Gift of the Void ftw!). Especially with just void burn this week. Did it take you an 1:40 total starting from Round 1? My friends were running it, but one had to bail after a few Skolas tries, so I got to jump in for the last round. Took us 2 tries and 1 hour to finish him off. I think previously they had been trying with two titans and a hunter for 3 hours before I jumped in lol.

Also, currently at Rank 4 for all three chars in IB. Planning to get Rank 5 for at least two chars today!

Yeah, 1:40 from round 1.
We had two titans and I was a warlock.
I ascended a void ldr, then had the void machine gun from PoE, so we just ran to the left, killed the servitor, then popped weapons of light and staggered skolas until the first round of mines. One guy went to grab the mine, while the other guy and I kept on skolas with machine guns.
We killed skolas a few times, but couldn't get the mines the first few times.

That was my first time killing him. But only my second attempt. First time was when he had solar burn, and I was only Lv 33. We tried to Gjallarhorn spam him right after the first Servitor, but failed horribly lol. With void burn, it was way easier to grind it out. Still had pretty much no idea what was happening at first with the mines and then the essence. We wiped the first time because I accidentally grabbed the essence from someone who just grabbed it lol. Second time when pretty smoothly. I was just running Word of Crota, some void shotty and a Truth. I'll have to remember to try to stun lock Skolas with a sniper next time around.

I also managed to hit Rank 5 with all three of my guys in IB. The buff last night was crazy. I think by the time I did my third, wins counted for like 400 points, and I think bounties cashed in for nearly 1000 or something. So with all of my guys at Rank 4 starting yesterday, I just needed to get maybe two wins and cash in two bounties to hit Rank 5 all around. So that's 7 Etheric Light on the week for me with the Skolas run! Plus a Cipher from Skolas. Ended up picking the sidearm bounty, but really all 3 weapons seem pretty awesome.

For the first 1:45, we were running 2 gjallarhorns and a dragons breath, but it wasn't cutting it. Eventually the dragons breath guy dropped out, and we finished it our third run with 3 gjallarhorns. Killed him before we even had to grab mines again.

If you want to rock some crucible, hit me up I'm always down. IB can be a bit of a challenge if you don't have a good team, as a lot of the time you will be paired up against a team of 4-6 players that are communicating.

So I reforged a Judgment VI shotgun, and think I have an almost perfect roll for pvp. Took it into the crucible last night to test it out with a blink / shotgun playstyle and had an average KD of 2.6 for the 5 games I played.

Perks are:

Row 1: Accurized Ballistics (Range + Impact increase)
Row 2: Crowd Control
Row 3: Smallbore (Range increase + smaller magazine)
Row 4: Luck in the Chamber.

With smallbore, the magazine size goes down to 3, making my chance of a one shot kill 1/3 to start. If you then get that kill, or it isn't the LitC kill, you then get the Crowd Control damage increase + an improved LitC chance.

This shotgun absolutely destroys in pvp. I felt like it was cheating it was so good.

Shot package or bust. Crowd Control is too short and small of a perk to be helpful in PvP, especially with shotguns. Smallbore and luck in the chamber is great synergy.

You think? I wrecked last night with that shotty - tough to get such a good re-roll. I have 2 Matadors, both with shot package. Neither is as good as the Judgement imo.

I generally like the Judgement/Party Crasher more than Matador/Felwinter's. It's become mandatory to have shot package for all my shotguns. Being able to comfortably 1 shot somebody from several meters away is no joke.

An extra 15% damage for 3 seconds seems iffy in practical usage. Might as well have full auto.

I like the quicker rof and better stability of the Judgement, seems to let you do a bit more in tight.

With that said, shotguns aren't really my cup of tea, I much prefer sniping in most games. But I had some fun being a blink / shotgun jerk last night!

So looks like there is glitch that can be used by Hunters to get their golden gun up significantly faster.

As a gunslinger, select the swarm grenade. Then equip a helm with the "ashes to asset" perk. Aclyophage Symbiote has this perk.

Every time one of the small rockets from the grenade detonates it counts as a kill, which will drastically reduce the golden gun cool down time.

If you are playing trials this weekend and see swarm grenades, don't detonate those rockets. The hunters using them will get their supers up almost instantly, and its gg.

To add to that, you can equip Young Ahamkara's Spine which can stack with a helms Ashes to Assets. Doesn't even need to hit somebody as by detonating they'll gain a little extra super energy. If they do hit, 0 to 75 for super energy. Ridiculously broken. Faced a team of hunters prepping final round and abusing this as well. Just not fun to deal with.

That's one thing I really dislike about Efrideet's. To me it doesn't take skill at all to tickle a guy's foot with the last round perk. I get that it is a legit usage to take advantage of your weapon's perks...but that one is especially cheesy to me.

Gotta say though, I will probably try to abuse the ashes to assets glitch this weekend. The map for Trials is great for golden gun...
