Got my jersey back today. 16 days! I feel like a kid at Christmas.
Did you get it customized? (picture isn't coming up for me). I got a BC jersey for Christmas and have been trying to find a good place to get it customized.
Man that list only shows how bad the NCAA is at producing NHL players..I feel bummed.
There's a difference between those that have hit and stuck in the NHL and those that didn't.
From what I have seen of those that missed, none of them had a decent overall game and their skills while being decent were not all that and then some. Somewhat like Brendl.
When Nyquist was 19, I thought he was going to be a 1st/2nd line player in the NHL, and now he has 25 points in 35 games thus far this season with Detroit. The vision he had on the ice was just too good and the rest of his game was also above average. Gerbe also had awesome skills, but similar to Gaudreau was way too small. It's taken a while but he's finally finding his way too.
Gaudreau might have a hard time adjusting like Gerbe did, but I think his overall game is good enough and he has the skills necessary to overcome his tiny stature. Gaudreau is different from the rest of those that missed as his offensive abilities are top end, not just good. If he was 6-1, he'd be a star player already in the league.

That list shows nothing of the sort.
Most of those players were seniors when they put up those numbers and many of them spent a year or 2 (or 3) in the USHL before entering college. The majority of NHLers that went the NCAA route left college before they were seniors and usually join the college ranks at the age of 18, so they never had the opportunity to put up those kinds of numbers.
It's simply easier for a 24 year old senior to put up those kinds of numbers than a 20 or 21 year old Junior like Gaudreau.

What stands out to me is that he's always been able to elevate his game to the next level. Some players cap out when jumping to higher levels, and others thrive on it, because now they have better players around them. Gaudreau seems to me to be the type that would benefit from it.
He has always looked good at the prospect camps, even his first one, and he's been leaps and bounds better at each successive one, including last year, where to me he was clearly above everyone else. He played with Monahan in all the games if I remember, and he was definitely the straw that stirred the drink on that line!.
Yeah, the big question is his size, and in the end maybe it does finally limit him, but I don't see it. He's had to deal with it his whole life and has overcome every other obstacle, this is just one more. I think he's learned to use it to his advantage to be honest, it was pretty apparent in the world juniors when he was playing against Canada.

Yea I got JG's name/number on the back and sleeves.
I found a place in town here (Saskatoon) that was able to match the colour and lettering so close that if it is different I can't tell (Al Andersons Sports in case you are in the area). Cost me 45 bucks for twill. So all in the jersey was around $140.
I just did some extensive google searching and found as many shots the back of the jersey as possible and gave those as reference.
Now I just need him to sign it... maybe our local contact can help me out with that

Actually, what that list shows is similar to the 20 year olds that annually top the scoring lists in the CHL - and rarely make a splash in the NHL. It shows a bunch of players who, in their senior year, were able to put up big numbers against younger competition.
As others have said, the top NHL prospects rarely if ever make it to their senior (or even junior) years in the NCAA. And if Gaudreau were 6'1" or more, he would already be in the NHL and wouldn't be on that list either.

I'm one of the few who has totally stopped caring about "the streak" we all know what Gaudreau can do in College and I'm itching to see what he can do when he turns pro, he has nothing left to prove at this level... but I'm imagine most of the guys around Gaudreau on that chart are either older then him by several years and in their 4th years.
Looking at just the other players over 1.8 PPG: Sejna was a 23 year-old junior; Miele and Pohl were both 22 year-old seniors.
Gaudreau is a 20 year-old junior.
