Dont get me wrong, I fully believe the whole Left wing/ Right wing thing is foolish as well.
The current liberal party and the NDP have drifted much further left over the last decade then their predecessors as well , so by extension supporting that party you could argue you are more left oriented as well. I would agree with you that most posters here are likely more financially conservative but I was speaking more specifically to the more vocal users.
The NDP hasn’t drifted left. If anything they moved to the center under Singh in 2019 when the liberals looked vulnerable. I’d agree the liberals under Trudeau moved left and that currently there is little difference between Singh and the Trudeau liberals.
I don’t think the high volume posters you are referring here are fiscally left in terms of Canadian politics. Most would be right of the current liberals.
If you look at the top 10 posters in this thread I think 6/10 are right leaning.

I think that had been established already by the original statement GGG provided
If the progressive parties have kept pace with evolving societal standards while conservative parties have divorced from those standards and regressed on social policy, that would make your point relatively meaningless, correct?

This depends on what you consider societal standards are. I would argue many places around the world have come to agree that the societal standards may have gone too far and you are beginning to see a shift on what the agreed upon societal standards are. I would say that's a off-topic discussion from this federal government thread as I expect this would cause a lot of discourse with a big difference in opinion.

The Liberals move way too far to the left and it was their downfall. Not everyone wants the government holding their hand all the time. They created a massive amount of debt too v
It’s definitely time for a change. Guess we’ll find out what the conservatives can do. If they crap the bed they’ll be replaced. If they don’t they won’t.
Trudeau is past his expiry date though. No matter what side of the spectrum you reside on. The problem is I don’t think he will ever admit it.

This is actually funny that you think this. What are all these "too far to the left" policies?

Hearing well researched and broadly supported scientific facts on an issue and then deciding "nah, I know better," and subjecting your population to the whims of whatever #### has been fed into your thick skull.
For an near perfect example of this, see Danielle Smith. But pretty much any anti-vaxer will do.
It's reasonable to assume PP will govern this way, because he's told us exactly that, every time he ####s on experts, "Laurentian Elite(dogwhistle effect++), reporters, carbon tax analysis, BoC governance, etc.
Essentially, being "antiscience" means you embrace ignorance and fly it up the flag pole of populism, hoping you can find enough other stupid ignorant people to support you.

I have family members who say something similar. When I ask the same question there's a few answers that always come up
- gay/trans/Pride
- carbon tax
- paper straws
- anything they consider 'woke' (a very wide range, whatever they're upset about at that moment)
So to some, equal human rights and concern about the environment are now left/far left issues. Silly me, I just assumed they'd be right down the middle but I guess not.

Nice. It’s about time that we had some more posters who reject this nonsense. I look forward to reading the rest of your post and many more in the years to come that will not contain any references to this flawed divisive left/right rhetoric.

Do we have any laws on seditious traitors in Canada? You know, the type where the punishment is a long walk across Hudson's Bay in your underwear?
This seems odd to me.
I guess to start, I would not say the he is a traitor, that seems like an old man yelling at the clouds.
Now obviously Kevin O’Leary would in no way at all be representing Canada if he was to discuss anything relating to Canada as a whole. I am curious, when countries get together to discuss trade and economic cooperation, are some ‘business leaders’ ever involved? Like in the background obviously.
I guess anyone is allowed to talk about whatever they want, I could go down to the US and talk about anything I wanted (nobody would listen, but that’s another story!).
Curious if some news is coming soon. Conservatives seem to be pissing themselves today over Mark Carney, frantically throwing a whole bunch of funny stuff at the wall hoping something sticks. He even has his own PP-coined nickname AND slogan! Must be terrified.

How are people still excited about Poilivere when they hear him say stuff like this? Seriously, CPC members should get a leadership reviewer under way so we don’t end up with this guy as PM? PP is not the creme de la creme of the CPC caucus. He doesn’t show any attributes of a solid statesman or someone who works well with anyone.
