The 175 weight is from his draft year IIRC. Safe to say he's at the 186 weight since that's either from Flames development Camp last summer or from the Friars in the fall.
I got those numbers directly from the web sites of the teams they play for. Hockeydb doesn't update heights and weights very often, so best to go directly to the source; where they play.
If he bulks up? Jankowski is 6'3 186 pounds. Monahan is 6'2 185 pounds. A my kid at 19 is going to see a weight gain, so I don't get all the concern over Jankowski's weight. Can't wait to see him at development camp in July so people will see the growth in his game and his stature first hand.
I am not at all concerned about his weight either - it will come.
What I said was: if he is going to turn pro this year (unlikely), it would require some size right away. Something north of 190 lbs or the like.
Anyway, he is not likely to turn pro this summer anyway, so whatever.
"He's playing, if not the most, the second most minutes on our team consistently. Every night, he's playing in every situation. He's pretty much out at the last minute of the game, whether we're up by a goal or down by a goal. I think that speaks a lot to just how much he's developed his game as a centreman and learning to play a complete game at this level." - Providence head coach Nate Leaman

Regardless of his weight, its a matter of whether the team feels he can offer his full potential at this point. If they're ready to concede he might be a good two way center at the NHL level then I guess so.
When he was drafted to become a top end talent in the first round I would argue there's little point to bringing him along faster until his offensive game comes around at the NCAA level.

Interested to see how he looks at development camp this off-season. Glad he's been put at centre this season and is playing lots of minutes. 22 points is a good second season, especially with the move back to centre.
I still have hope for this guy that he can be an effective player for the Flames. Next season is going to be a huge indication of that with Providence. A solid post-season with the Friars would go a long way
I wonder if we'll see Jankowski with a letter on his jersey next year. Army, Shamanski, and Kevin Hart are all seniors this year and will be moving on. Only Mauermann will return.
Just wish Mauermann was done too, he'll be a 24 year old senior next year and will probably still be played ahead of the 20 year old junior in Jankowski.

I am hoping they move Mauermann to the wing and play Jankowski as the #1 center
