Rzepczynski getting absolutely pounded out there.
6-0 Yankees in the third.

Damien Cox is getting ripped a new arsehole on Twitter over his column. It's funny to watch how defensive he is getting.
That said, I didn't think anyone took the Toronto Star seriously after their "White Jays" hatchet job about nine years ago where Griffin, Cox and a couple others accused the Blue Jays of being racist. The Star nearly lost its press credentials over that one.

Cox should really quit when he's behind...
Wonder if all the people who hated Bautista post get this angry over trade rumours, given how much they claim to despise speculation. . . .
Thanks for clarifying that we should hold you to the same journalistic standards as Eklund, I always thought this should be the case, but it's great to have confirmation right from the horse's mouth.

I think my favourite comment of his was when he was trashing people for not being "independent thinkers". Since when was "baseball success = roids" an independent thought?

Cox predicted 100 losses for the Jays at the beginning of the season. He's now trying to justify it by continually saying the Jays aren't really as good as their record and Bautista is on roids.

Well I didn't think the Blue Jays would lose 100 games, but I didn't think they'd win more than 75 either. I certainly didn't expect Bret Cecil to pitch like this against the AL East and post 11 wins this season. Overall the Jays have held their own pretty well inside the AL East as only the Red Sox have really beaten them up.

42nd HR of the season for Bautista. Leg kick the secret to success? Detroit broadcast thinks so

Apparently none of Frasor, Downs, Gregg, or Camp cleared waivers.

Not surprising.
Also, on a (reputable) podcast - ESPN baseball today I think, or something of the sorts - I listen to, they recently mentioned that if you adjusted for division (I think that's what it was, would make sense) the Jays are something like the 6th best team in baseball or soemthing? Not sure if it was overall or just in a specific time period or what. At any rate, they have really grown to love the Jays.

The Jays have been kind of an 'it' team among the writers at ESPN for a while. Buster Olney in particular seems fond of them lately.

2nd page?
Anyhoo, Jays score 10 runs in the top of the 6th, including the 43rd HR of the season by Bautista, bringing him to 102 RBI!
Actually inning isn't even over yet.

A friend of mine with Telus TV said that they've been showing the past few Sportsnet One Jays games on an auxiliary channel.
