I bought for the weekly view on my iPhone. The recent update brought in additional functionality but I don't use it much.

Much better than the preinstalled version.

Also, check out FastContact, it let's you sort by company

I bought it this morning... just based on the reviews I have seen it has to be the greatest thing since sliced bread....... I haven't loaded it onto the iPad yet but I'll give it a go tonight.

Most of the reviews were like "We would compare it to another game to give context, but since we have no idea what to compare it to we'll just have to do our best to describe it. It is that original.".

Yeah, it's pretty crazy. Has a definite King's Quest feel to it.

Which reminds me... I'd love me some *Quest iPad ports.

I've only played a bit (I'm like maybe 4 screens in), and its got a very cool vibe to it. It's positively gorgeous when you zoom out.

Has anyone tried the Nike Training Club app? I downloaded it a week ago on a whim (it's free) and have been really impressed with it. It's essentially a personal trainer with a ton of work-outs for all skills. Each work-out has pictures and video instructions with really attractive girls doing the exercises. A voice instructs you through the work-out and helps keep you in line. The app also keeps track of your history and you can create your own routines.

I'm using it to supplement my main sport (rock climbing) and have been really impressed so far. People looking for a heavy lifting guide will probably be disappointed, however, because it is more focused on all around fitness.

Anyone know of a good app for running? The main function I am looking for is something to track my distances.

I LOVE runkeeper. I was using Nike+ but it didn't do it for me. Runkeeper (I went with pro) was fantastic. It charts out where you've run on a map and keeps data on things like pace. Really enjoy it.

For anybody who wants to get into running and doesn't feel like they can do it, Couch to 5K is incredible. Just a basic little app that has you run at increasingly hard intervals over a 3 month period. Most importantly it just gets out of your way and lets you listen to your music and it tells you when to start and stop running. I went from a pretty sedentary lifestyle to running 5k with a shocking lack of effort.

I've used both as well, nike+ is cool because you can do virtual races with other people if they use the same system, the nike dongle (about $25)will track your times verses distances and upload it to some giant database, so it's a little like an online scoreboard. Also it tracks your distance on treadmills as well. You can get a little case that attaches to any shoe to use the nike dongle, most useful if you prefer to run in a non nike shoe. You can get one at any Running Room.

Runkeeper uses your gps to track where you're going, so it eats up a lot of battery on a 30 minute run. Both are good with built in training programs, i believe nike has another app that uses gps now as well. these won't track your distances on a treadmill.

I particularly liked how nike+ throws in little easter eggs as well for your fastest this or that. I had lance armstrong congratulate me on my fastest 5k a while back. felt pretty good. The only downside is that the foot dongle runs on a battery, so you need to buy a new dongle when the battery goes. mine lasted about a year.

being able to see my progress running has made me a much more motivated runner. I would agree with russic that it has made the transition to runner much easier than if i just laced up my shoes and tried to convince myself to run every other day.

It's like a personal high scoreboard, same thing that keeps me coming back to tiny wings.

You have to understand just how little I ran at the time. I'm a little guy that was carrying about 15-20 lbs I shouldn't have been. Not brutally obese or anything, but more days than not I was sitting at a desk, going home and sitting on the couch.

The first day (if I recall) was run for 60 seconds, walk for 90. I found it pretty difficult which scared the living hell out of me. I kept up with it though and that was about as tired as I ever felt. The difficulty was increased gradually enough that within a month I was running at a decent clip for about 15 straight minutes and not feeling exhausted when it came time to walk. A short time later it was a full 30 minute run and it felt great to look back a relatively short period of time to when I couldn't run a single minute without discomfort.

I used this app in conjunction with LoseIt (calorie tracker) and was surprised at how easy it was to lose weight. Just basic calories in vs. calories out. I took a strange thrill in entering a run and watching the graph of my daily consumed calories shrink. It turned losing weight into a bit of a game.

Once I completed the app and could run 5k, I graduated to runkeeper pro.

Used runkeeper last night for my first ever 6k run. Took me 40 minutes and my whole body is killing me. Great app though. Thanks for the mention.

I ran the rivervalley in Edmonton. Tons of hills and the trails are in crazy bad condition. Heh, plus the fact that I have never ran more than 3k in my life, I plan on speeding that up big time ( I hope!).
