Old Dave finally caved - someone got sense in through his stubbornness. We’ll see how Bonner does - ideally would be to wait until next year to get him playing , but with Schiltz out he’s the man right now. There’s no way he does any worse than Jake so by default it’s an improvement. Much needed, hopefully taking this long to make the obvious change is not too little too late. Daves well on the way to getting himself fired unfortunately, so thankfully he’s choosing to coach for the better of the team and making the hard (right) decision to stop propping Jake up when he’s proven over and over that he is what he is - we will not succeed with him at the helm. Good back up, but not your true leader capable to get it done.

I'm not expecting much, the advantage is that the Esks now have no idea what he can do on film, and what the game plan is. I expect though that its going to be a simple offense and probably run heavy.
Watching some of his college action, he does seem to move the pocket ok, On short passes up the middle, he's a little erratic, and on long passes the ball does seem to wobble.
I would expect very few outside routes.
I could be wrong.

Whether Bonner is the future or not, this is the right call. Hopefully this indicates the team has finally realized Maier is not and was never going to be "the guy". See what you have in the other QB's. If they aren't it either, you start looking to get a clear vision for 2025. I hope to not see Maier on the field again. Time to move on.
