Got to think the hitting coach looses his job soon - even if not his fault - since Montoya had his option picked up and I don’t see him getting fired

Yeah, starting to wonder if the offense will ever get going again. They might just suck, I mean it's almost June. This isn't a small sample size anymore.

Yeah I dunno. I think Montoyo might be gone sooner than later if this keeps up. He probably makes what? Like 750k? Easy to cut that lose when the payroll is 200 mill and you need a different voice.

Probably not, but you have to wonder why sometimes.
I mean, Raimel ####ing Tapia has more PA's than Kirk this season, and that's with Danny Jansen injured and missing several weeks.
Wrap your head around that for a minute lol

Sure there are line up choices that can be questionable, but right now his team is above .500 with basically every single hitter way below career averages coming off a 90+ win season with 5 starting pitchers looking good.
I always say this: if we are going to crucify MontoyO (not Montoya) for the misses then he has to be praised for the positives. You have a team playing way above its expected win total right now. I am not happy with how the bats are performing but firing Montoyo isn't happening.

Agreed. While Atkins and Shapiro are seen as upper management, you can be damn sure they're conversing with the coach behind the scenes on what moves to make lineup wise. Corporations don't work in isolation, especially if you're a person with less experience like Montoyo. They could certainly use him as an escape guy but baseball tends to hang on as the season goes through it's ebbs and flows. I think he's safe unless they go through an extreme streak like 3-15.

Someone needs to tell Tapia that if you're someone who can't hit a ball out of the ballpark without a gale force wind blowing out to right you probably shouldn't be trying to hit the ball into the air.

This team is rage inducing right now. Watching them is just not good for my blood pressure.
They are a bunch of guys who’ve bought into their own hype and aren’t doing the most basic things at the plate.

Not sure what's going on with the offense, but something has to give eventually. This team should not be so brutal with RISP.

It's actually painful to watch this team right now. Just rage inducing at bat after rage inducing at bat (Espi excluded).
