But tennis isn't a uniform sport, they are all played on different surfaces. That's the beauty of the sport, each venue is something different and unique and brings something special to the table. Making it uniform takes away from it IMO.

I don't know, the different surfaces make the slams unique enough in my opinion, I think the same scoring system across slams is fine. What I wouldn't mind seeing is a change for the women's game to make the final in a slam a best of five match just like the men.

Yeah, I actually don't like uniformity, I kind of liked that they were different.
For a long time US Open was the only final set tiebreak. French and Wimbledon has no lights. Australia had a roof.
At least the French Open still has no hawkeye

It always amuses me when you have player and umpire pointing at different marks at Roland Garros.

Maybe I'm making too big of a deal of this but for me this feels like if the NHL took away multiple OT's in the playoffs and just decided games with a shootout after one OT period. It doesn't happen often but it's special when it does happen and I feel like we are loosing something special in tennis today.

Nah, based on my twitter feed, a lot of people do not like this decision and like things the way they currently are. Not exactly sure what prompted this change (although my guess is tv had a lot to do with it), but if there is enough hue and outcry, they might revert things back.
Also, I'll stop watching NHL playoff hockey if games that go to OT are decided by a shootout.

tiebreaks are still real tennis, but with randomness/luck playing a way bigger factor. it's not like shootouts at all which are not hockey. a tiebreak is more like if they made the nets twice as large in OT, or didn't allow line changes at all.
also, whenever the umpire is forced to climb down from his chair to check/argue a mark on clay, I just turn the TV off and do more productive things with my short life.

IW scheduling doing tennis fans no favors starting the Nadal - Opelka and Kyrgios - Sinner matches at the same time. No bueno.

Kecmanovic with the biggest win of his career taking out Berrettini 6-3 6-7 6-4. His great play in 2022 continues.

Also, Leylah / Cornet advanced via walkover in doubles and are into the semi-finals along with Gaby / Olmos. We could have Canadians facing each other for the women's doubles crown in Indian Wells.

Man, you'd be hard pressed to play three worst points than Opelka did in that opening set tie-breaker.

Rafa celebrated, the crowd celebrated, but Hawk-Eye said the ball was out.
