What’s wrong with software developer as a title? I have an engineering degree, but I gave up my designation when I moved to BC, and I no longer refer to myself as an engineer.

To dispel any doubts that TBA is just MAGA. Tucker Carlson will be coming to Calgary to join Danielle Smith in a live speech/event.

Smith has criticized AHS as too top-down and monolithic in its decision-making and said it failed to respond to rising hospitalization rates during the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, she fired the board of AHS and replaced it with a single administrator.
On Saturday, Smith told reporters in Calgary that the looming changes will see AHS focus on hospital and acute care with other priorities such as primary care and mental health hived off in a process expected to take 18 months to two years.
Smith called the process "disaggregating."
"Alberta Health Services is going to continue operating our acute-care facilities, and we're going to ask them to do a better and better job at it," said Smith.

Well it's started. Here's where Smith explains exactly what she is going to do, so we already have a road map. This is step 1.

Notice the tone of her voice, she's already pre-determined private care is going to replace our delivery model, which she sounds particularity venomous to. But ya, go ahead and tell me how she's going to govern in a different way than she has always thought. So ####ed.

Because only a small fraction of citizens participate in politics at the party level. Which leaves parties vulnerable to being taken over by small, highly-motivated groups.
Traditionally, activist takeovers could be suppressed by party organizers who controlled funding and organizational infrastructure. But social media has swept those gatekeepers away. Now whackos can organize and raise money on their own, without help from party functionaries. Hard to see how that genie gets put back in the bottle.

They’re put themselves in a position where they have a lot of influence, yes. However, the motions that come out of party conventions aren’t binding. Smith can ignore them. She has to weight how much implementing them would hurt the UCP’s electoral chances versus how much ignoring them would threaten her leadership of the party.

Ya, those who have taken over the party base are really known for their rationality and leniency. I'm sure Smith will be just fine ignoring them...

The fact the UCP got elected again is pretty clear evidence that ignoring The Party's will is a far greater risk to leadership of the party than the harm implementing them will do to electoral chances.
Just ask Jason Kenney.

Danielle Smith, Tucker Carlson and W. Brett Wilson all together on one stage. There's just too much awesome in one location, they're going to be bursting at the seams with sweet, tangy conservative jelly.

How much of MY tax money am I paying to bring Tucker Carlson in to spread his vile nonsense? This is disgusting. Isn’t he the guy who said the U.S. should invade Canada to save us from Trudeau?

Then why do you have a licence to practice? If you've never stamped a thing in your life, and never will stamp a thing in your life... why not give up the P.Eng.?
(I stamp stuff all the time. I couldn't even tell you how many times I've put my stamp on something.)
