If Bass is on Bereavement leave that opens a spot for Pearson in the short term.
Edit: Also makes it awkward if Pearson is lights out and Bass is the one who gets dfa'd after.

In a limited time I’ve always wanted it to work out for Pearson. He reminds me a lot of Halladay in so many ways. It’s clear he needs a confidence boost or two. So if he gets some time in I hope they ease him in with great situations. The teams we’re about to play should help. Regarding who to say bye to eventually, so many choices. None are perfect but there are choices.

Shoulder strain. Could explain why he's lost velo and control out of nowhere this season.

Pearson up and Cimber to IL - team just got better.
hopefully opens up the chance for Cimber to make some AAA appearances after his injury and figure things out a little too.
Something had to give and though injuries suck, this is a positive development

Yep. Hopefully Pearson does what he's capable of.
He has everything needed to be a legit high leverage lock it down reliever.
Couple that with the possibility of maybe adding Green sometime this summer, and you start to have some legit killers out there for late inning shut down.

Sure, if Pearson can come up and hit the strike zone consistently. If he can't it's gonna be a rough ride.

Im not sure he has ever shown an ability to to be high leverage....anything.
He still has a LOT to prove, but this looks like as good a chance as he will get with this organization.

Haha, what are you talking about? Pearson has all the obvious tools to be an elite high leverage reliever. That's not even debatable. 100mph heat, wipe out slider, he misses bats and racks up Ks like crazy.
His only issue has been his ability to stay healthy, and sometimes his command of his pitches gets away from him.

I see.
Thats why he is almost 27 years old and been a fixture in the Jays rotation.
The dude has most all the tools, no one said any different. Availability is an ability by the way.
He has never proven them to be of use in the bigs...not sure what you are arguing about actually.
The proverbial tools/toolbox equation.

Yeah, Pearson has a ton of physical gifts…that he almost wasted by trying to throw 110mph. Due to injuries and illness as well as lack of command, he hasn’t faced high leverage situations in the majors and it is going to be interesting to see how he handles it. Hopefully he can trust his stuff and he dominates but it’s definitely a question mark.

Nate's career arc has been very interesting. In a lot of ways he has been let down by his handlers and the Blue Jays organization. He got caught up in the spin rate fad and trying to pump up the velocity to 11. Someone needed to step in and mentor him on how to pitch and take care of himself.
I'm excited to see what he can do because he's as pure of a natural talent as you can get for a pitcher. In a perfect world I'd love to see him in the closers role with Romano set up man.

Why doesn’t Bassit focus on his best 4 pitches . Why do we need 8
His curveball looks amazing . Why not throw it more . Why do we need a random splitter mixed in
I wonder if the catcher gets semi annoyed with it

Jeez Biggio looks lost at the plate. If there was ever a time to try a bunt down the 3b line that would've been it. Try something, anything, to be productive.
