It's a joke, because he's an idiot shill and everything he reports is wrong.

Spector, you're bad, like the team you cover.

It's a sick burn on Spector as it was announced two full weeks ago that Q will be back in chi town

Joke. He literally just announced that Gulutzen would be staying with the Flames next season.

Are the Flames going to somehow become more painful to watch?

If Trotz saves his job then I can't imagine the Caps will be able to hang on to Todd Reirden for another year. I feel like his name circulated a lot around the Flames job that went to Gulutzan. Could be a darkhorse.

Man, if that powerplay didn't make you turn on the coaching staff, I'm not sure anything could. It drained flames momentum far too consistently.

So where does this actually leave Marty? Is he going to be shoe horned into the assistant coaches role or will they keep him doing what ever the hell he did for the past two seasons?

Did the assistants get fired in New York with AV?

I wouldn't mind seeing Lindy Ruff as the next coach.

If that were an issue, they likely would have insisted on keeping the current staff, because now they will have to pay both the current staff and whoever is hired to replace them.

If you are willing to spend to the cap for player personnel, you may as well spend on management and staff to get the most out of them.

Abysmal special teams, unacceptable fragility in adversity, a horrible home ice record and a boring style of play were the hallmarks of this year's Flames, and the coaches did nothing to address any of these issues. I know that coaches don't care if the style they teach is boring, but if the team is losing and boring, ownership knows that it won't be long until there are a lot of empty seats, and that would affect the bottom line more than the cost of hiring a real coach.

Why? If we had an average coach with average results then that'd make sense as things could get worse. There's literally nothing to lose with a coaching change right now, and everything to gain.

1. Quenneville has already been confirmed to be staying in Chicago.
2. Less than 90 mins before the Flames press release about Gulutzan & co. Bob Stauffer tweeted that Spector had confirmed there would be no coaching changes in Calgary.

Hence, the joke.

Huh? Isn’t everyone posting on a fan forum just doing it to hear themselves talk? How is that different from what you are doing right now?

And we got what we wished for, and it’s awesome.

Sorry Glen. He seems like a great guy but this is a ruthless business.
Some were calling for him to go after the Anaheim series. Maybe they were on to something...

The Peters talk is nothing but rumors and speculation at this point. No sense worrying about it until we hear some actual credible news surrounding that.
