I thought the chase scene was the best part of the episode.

Nope that was horrible.

The .50 hitting the jeep and bouncing off......oh me oh my.

I have been a fan of this show since Rick opened his eyes in the hospital, but last night really felt like 60 minutes of shark jumping.

The only part I liked was Stephen King's illegitimate love child mocking The King. I could have had more of him.

Well of course it was horrible. It felt like a video game where it flashes on the screen "press A now!" and the next action animation happens. It was the best part of the episode becuase it didn't have the king in it. By default, best part.

When Darryl rolled his bike, the headlight came flying off.

But he had time to fix it, it's back on in the chase scene

Yeah, I hate to complain but that chase seen was bad. That's the budget you get with all these big fights going on.

The chase scene looked like a cheap version of an Indiana Jones sequence, but I enjoyed the rest of the episode.

After 3 episodes with no Negan, it looks like next week we'll finally get to see what's been happening with him and Gabriel in the trailer.

The wife and I have a thing each episode where, at least once per episode, we'll say "so unrealistic". I know, there's zombies and stuff, but still. Make the rest somewhat plausible.
I think last week it was when the groups were having a full fledged shootout about 10 feet away from each other.
Last nights episode was atrocious. From Carol being able to pick off a bunch of guys from a few meters away in the ceiling and then her not being able to hit the guys by the truck outside, to the car chase. That was a total eye roller. Especially the moment Rick pulls right up beside the guy.

Whatever though. After a hardcore binge to catch up and sticking with it, I'm committed now to seeing it finish.
I dunno about you guys, but I'm super excited for:
Spoiler!

I guess I'm a little surprised at all the negative reactions to King Ezekiel. I admit when he first appeared in the show I rolled my eyes...almost as hard as I roll them every time I see the garbage gang.

However, after he revealed it was all just a facade he created in an attempt to lead and protect people it actually became interesting. Khary Payton is able to pull off some subtleties in the character that has hinted at his vulnerability and uncertainty. Now with Shiva and what appears to be most of the Kingdom gone I think we see another transformation in character ala Carol, Morgan, etc.

As long as they don't make him mopey. Please don't make him mopey.

As for the episode, yeah that chase was chee-e-esy. Forget the firefight, the radiator blowing but the jeep still able to keep speed, and the continuity errors...it was just awkward. Just the Savior taking up 80% of the space in the back looked downright strange.

Jerry's slice and dice was awesome though. That was a great shot of the body splitting revealing the King. Chemical walkers were cool.

The entire episode was meant to destroy the King and the Kingdom. While I personally felt the pacing wasn't great, that might be because of how the other episodes have gone so far this season. Guess we have to wait to see if the episode was worth it in the long run. Just don't screw up Ezekiel's transformation.

And every human can be killed or die in this show, but I get upset over a CGI tiger. Jeez

If I daytime soap opera had a chase scene, that is what you would get.

The chase scene was a really minor part of the episode. I really didn't think it was that bad either.

Loved the episode overall though.

I think the reaction by Jerry to the King asking not to be called King anymore was telling. They all knew it was an act that Zeke put on, but it was also what was needed to make the Kingdom work.

The King was not the problem in that episode. The hamfisted acting by the glasses-wearing Savior, who seemed like he was designed for an audience of Homer Simpson (we get it, we're supposed to hate him) was the issue. Car chase scene was a bit silly, as I'm pretty sure that Jeep Rick was in should have been toast.

Frankly, Ezekiel was one of the better parts of that episode. I agree with Yamer, I have no issue with him or how he's being portrayed. Don't understand the hate.

I assume they killed the tiger off because CGI tigers are expensive.

Am I the only one that thought that Darryl wiping out on was a little out of place.

It almost seemed like the producers forgot Darryl had wiped out minutes earlier and then had him later as part of the chase as if nothing had happened. Why did they even have that scene to begin with?

I don't hate the character. I just find him a bit annoying at times. However, I agree he was one of the better parts of this episode (along with Jerry).

The tiger's death was obviously devastating for him. Combine that with losing most of his people, and he's gonna be pretty broken up. Like someone said earlier in this thread, I just hope they don't have him super depressed and moping around for the rest of the season.

I have a strange relationship with this show. The once tense survival horror that it once was has given way to this drawn out absurdity that I still watch every week and occasionally enjoy for some reason. Like, the goofiness of a “kingdom” of sorts being ruled by a former zookeeper with a domesticated tiger is quaint and amusing, but has felt way out of place for me and exhibits that the show’s sort of been wandering the wastes for a long while now (though I do like Ezekiel’s character a lot of the time, admittedly).

Regarding Ezekiel, I’d expect to see a mopey episode or two, followed by some sort of motivation from Carol, who will remind him of his “but yet I smile” shtick and get him back on the wagon. I’m not sure what he’ll do now though, given that the actual effective fighting force of the Kingdom has been eliminated from the equation.

With the now tag team of Rick and Daryl running amok, it’s interesting seeing Daryl repeatedly cancel out any of the humanity that Rick demonstrates by summarily executing everyone he sees (Morales, the dude behind the tree). You can tell which one of those two was cooped up in a room learning about Easy Street.

Coming into this thread is confusing. One poster will say the worst part was the chase scene, another says that was the highlight.

Then a poster will say the glasses wearing savior was great, then another says he was the worst.

Someone said they hated how Carol became Rambo again, while I loved that. And want more of it.

Just an interesting thing I've noticed in this thread more than most other show threads.

Anyways, things still seem to be going well for Rick and crew. Really curious to see what's going on with Negan and Gabriel, and more so what will become of Negan going forward.

This was actually the best reviewed episode this year. For whatever reason this show has a bunch of posters who hate it but are waiting it out to the end. Unfortunately there's a lot more material for the producers to work with, so it won't end until there's a much more dramatic drop off in ratings.

I've been told CP is a liberal echo chamber. This thread just shows we have differing opinions. No sheep here!

I can't recall if it was an earlier post or somewhere else that somebody commented on the bad acting by that character. What I really liked is you could see that this was somebody who was likely normal or a little meek prior to the Zombie Apocalypse, and is now trying to act like he is tough- probably to fit in or rise in the ranks of the Saviors. We see this with some of the other Saviors.

I've never read them but I know it happens in the comics too. As soon as they were trapped I knew what was going to happen.
