I believe Tarado was the Jays' #9 rated prospect. The other guys were nothings or way down in rookie ball (lottery tickets at best).

So was that 8 minor league pitchers out the door?

No way... 57.2% of all the balls he hits are on the ground (and that's a career low for him) that's Kawasaki-like. He'll GIDP to much to put him there. He's a bottom-order hitter through and through. You can have him lead-off in a pinch (until Travis comes back) where he won't have a guy on first at least one time through the order.

I wonder who is coming off the roster to make room for Lowe and Revere.

Loup(please)? and someone else.

It is getting increasingly difficult to defend Loup; I don't even know if I could bother any more. He does have options so would be easy to send down.

Not Loup... Jays aren't going to have only 1 lefty in the pen... probably Bo Schultz and Ryan Tepera.

I was hoping that the Jays would call up Rasmussen to replace Loup but with Rasmussen going in the Lowe deal we're stuck with him.

He's been batting 1 or 2 for the Phillies for most of this season, however.

Yes... but we really shouldn't be emulating the strategies of a team with a .379 winning percentage.

I agree re: Tepera. Schultz has been doing well lately though (last appearance aside) and Gibbons has been using him in higher-leverage situations. Only having one lefty isn't ideal, and the numbers do indicate Loup has been unlucky, but man, I just cringe when he enters games.

Yeah, same. But pens need more then one lefty and given how good Liam Hendricks has been it ain't gonna be him that gets cut.

If they have their passports with them then they could... Seattle is on the road facing the Twins and Philly is at home. That's not to bad as far as travel goes. I imagine they'll want to give them time to collect some personals and figure out living arrangements and such.

should be an interesting finish, massive risk but better than just accepting another .500 season

More importantly, which minor league affiliate did we have to fold due to lack of bodies?

So the final tally that the Jays paid this week:

6 LHPs:
Norris, Boyd, Labourt, Wells, Brentz, Rasmussen

5 RHPs:
Cordero, Tirado, Hoffman, Castro, Tinoco

SS Reyes

Worth every penny!

Improved the rotation, the bullpen, LF, team defense, and the offense

Now it's time to get it done
