Lol Davis seals it. Why did Toronto let him walk?

And of course the Yankees are blowing up the Indians.
Granted ... I'm not sure it matters what the other teams do at this point.

I hate being the overly negative guy, but as the season continues we are getting farther and farther away from a playoff spot. We need EE back stat if we have any hope of staying in the race.

Everytime they roll out the no name or light hitting PH plugs from the bench (or are forced to keep one of said position players in), and pop out, more nails go into AA's "stand pat" coffin.

Scherzer, Price and King Felix on deck. This was one we really needed. Going to the game on Tuesday, so hopefully they can win that one.

Who built that coffin though ... AA or Rogers?

Tough to do anything when he couldn't add salary. I doubt he wanted to stand pat

For bench players, which the team would've needed to make a push into the fall and playoffs no matter the health of the team, I would say AA. They didn't need to do a big deal and trade people away, they would've probably just had to add salary for the next 2-3 months to get a high risk, high reward bat or two...I think he could've done that but maybe was looking too big of a deal. The penny pinchers at Rogers could've been convinced that the injury savings (I assume it works similar to hockey with insurance playing on long term injuries) could make up for part of it.
The added bonus would've been the push that the players seemed to be waiting for...commitment as promised from Beeston and Co., but moreso the infusion of new blood and the threat in tight games like last night and tonight, that there is a bonafide hitter they can trot out in the 8th or 9th.

Its already a 140 million dollar payroll. How much does he need?

10-3 after the all star break before the July deadline, with the hope of trade deadline additions upcoming and getting right back into the race, getting the team excited.
Since the nonexistent moves at trade deadline, and after two players being vocal about the deflation/anger feelings after being promised the team was to be bolstered, and then nothing done, 2-6; one of those wins barely scraping past the long done Astros, while losing the other 3 to them.

Please find me a definitive source that says AA could not add salary.
Getting tired of seeing this over and over again when there is no substantive evidence that states this was the case

Great game today. Both starters made it through 8 innings. Scherzer with 97mph stuff 105 pitches into the game.

Nathan blows another one. Kinda wish Scherzer came out for the 9th.
