Irsay is an idiot. Could you be any more disrespectful as an owner? I hope Denver scores 70 Sunday night.

People are calling Denver's D garbage and the results seem to support this. There are some reasons that teams have been able to put up some numbers against the Broncos.
First, there has been a lot of bodies in and out of the lineup, especially the last two games. Von has been out all year (upper body injury: brain), Champ has been out up until the last game. Woodyard (defensive captain and really underrated LB) was injured in the Dallas game. Chris Harris, they best CB on the team, was also injured in the Dallas game. Ayers, their best DL this season (surprisingly) was also injured in the Dallas game. When those three went down is when Dallas started to come back on Denver. So, there have been 5 starters that have missed the last two games and two that have missed almost the whole season thus far. That's almost half the defense.
The Broncos got a huge lead in the first 4 games and let their guard down in the 4th quarter. They went away from man coverage and started playing zone, which is not their forte. As a result, each of the first 4 games featured a garbage TD late in the 4th quarter for the opposition. They clearly overlooked Jacksonville and still beat them by 16 points.
Now, Von Miller is coming back. Woodyard is coming back. Champ is back and has a game under his belt. It's possible that both Ayers and Harris are both coming back. And this is Peyton's homecoming so I think the whole team will be focussed and amped up to play. I'm sure if Manning wasn't already fired up he will be even more so after Irsay's stupid comments.
Indy is a good team and will be tough to beat at home. But the Broncos haven't played a complete game yet and should be focussed and ready for this one. Should be a fun game regardless.

Hey, you know those decisions that piss off our hardcore fans, make a mockery of the game, and are bad for player safety? Let's make more of those.

The NFL may add additional Thursday night games in the future, according to a Wall Street Journal report.
The Wall Street Journal, citing a person familiar with the league's strategy, reported Tuesday that the league is weighing selling a second slate of Thursday games to a media outlet to pair with its existing 13-game slate on NFL Network.

Injuries are really going to test the Pats this year. Now Mayo is gone for the season.

Hate to say it but I don't think so. I saw the Raiders/Chiefs game and while their defense was very impressive against our backup OL which had a RG playing center for the first time, the offense was terrible and if the Raiders have their starting OL they win that game easily. They didn't and that's the way things go so the Chiefs are full marks for the win but it's so easy to defend captain checkdown (Smith) with good man coverage as you know he's never going to force the ball into coverage. The best QB's have the confidence to make throws in tight coverage and complete them and with Smith you know he's not even going to attempt those throws.

In order to win playoff games, I think teams need an offence who can score 28 points a game. The Chiefs offence can not do that. Every game they are relying on a defensive or special teams touchdown to get their 26+ a game. You won't be getting those TD's against the teams like Denver or New England.
Still Andy Reid is so far superior to Crennel as a head coach it's been good so far. Ultimately Denver is going to beat the Chiefs the way they've been picking apart the rest of the NFL. Stupid Irsay never should have let Manning go, and traded Luck to the Red Skins.
I'm sure you would agree with me, that you'd much rather be laughing at Denver try to make due with Teebow and Osweiler at QB and struggling to be 500 than watching Manning destroy the league.

Disagree with the "Raiders would have won the game" scenario. Agree with the comments on Smith. Still take him any day over Matt Cassel or Brady Quinn.

I don't think a person like Peyton Manning needs "motivation" to play. The reason he is successful, is because he gives his best effort every play of every game, regardless of the circumstances.
If anyone knows who Ty Murray is, in his book he said that he was always asked if competing at the NFR gave him extra motivation to try harder. He said he didn't understand the question. He gave his full effort every time he competed. Probably why he is one of the best in history. Peyton Manning is no different.

No one can debate Alex Smith will check down like crazy, but he has won a playoff game against a pretty solid Saints team. He is hyper risk averse, but he can win.
And all he needs to do is win 2 more games. Chiefs finishing .500 or better changes the conditional 3rd round pick into a 2nd round pick heading back to the 49ers.

So far, he has done enough to win. Chiefs really haven't played from behind much this season either. So he really hasn't had to force any plays. The Chiefs have had a very easy schedule so far as well.

Houston is starting Case Keenum at QB vs the Chiefs this weekend. I'm excited to see what he can do. He looked good in preseason and his teammates have been saying good things about him. Hopefully he can do well.

Chiefs defense just put 10 sacks on a running QB, they might put 20 up against Keenum. Nasty, nasty defense they have in Kansas City.

Let's hope he can continue the proud University of Houston tradition of producing legendary NFL quarterbacks, like Kevin Kolb and Andre Ware.

Ya we should probably write him off before his first NFL start.

Smarten up Wilson. Have the Cards on the ropes, in cruise control on offense and defense up by 14 and driving their way to a 21 point lead, and then on 3 tries from 2 yards can't get a first down.
Then on the offensive next series, tries to stand in the pocket for 5 seconds, then sees the rusher coming, but still loses the ball, and inexplicably its now 14-10.
They gave the game back to Indy a couple weeks ago after not putting them away in the first half, and the same script tonight at the moment.
More poor play by Wilson. A needless timeout leaving them with none with 25 seconds to go. Then he tries to run in a TD from 27 yards out with no timeouts and not enough time to get the FG unit on, or spike it. Luckily for him, a holding call on Seattle means the clock stops and forced back 10 yards instead...to kick a 51 yard FG.
At the half, 65 yards total by ARI, down by 7.
At the half in Indy, Indy had 102 total yards, and down by 2 points...78 of those on a long bomb by Luck.

Chiefs players were saying that about Brady Quinn last year.

The likeliest outcome is that Keenum will show that he isn't an NFL talent. But at this point I'd rather go with the unknown commodity then go with Schaub again.
