Bruins, Pens morning skates cancelled Friday
Friday, 04.19.2013 / 12:15 PM / News
NHL.com
The Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins have cancelled their morning skates for Friday morning at TD Garden.
The city of Boston, as well as several surrounding communities, are "locked down" by authorities as the search for one of the suspects involved in the Boston Marathon bombing on Monday continues. Government officials have ordered residents of the city to "shelter in place" until further notice.
The fate of the game Friday night at TD Garden is unknown. Just after 12 p.m. ET, the Bruins provided the following update:
"Due to today's heightened security in Boston, we are taking direction from state & local officials, and do not have any updates on tonight's Bruins/Penguins game. We will update accordingly as soon as possible."

I would be shocked if the Bruins game goes ahead tonight.

No chance that game gets played tonight. If it is it might set a record for lowest attendance

Would that be 3 postponed games this year? Wasn't one postponed earlier in the season with the hurricane?

tell that to the people of Boston. The FBI and police get into a shoot outs with these 2 evil idiots. The older one had explosives strapped on him when he was killed and they threw explosives at the police.
The MD has also confirmed the explosives.
If ever there is a valid justified reason for authorities to have a shoot to kill on sight green light this is it...and i bet they do.

Combined with a 2009 recorded comment from the older brother of "I don't have any American friends. I don't understand them . . . ." that's how its starting to look.
The younger brother hasn't run into a crowd and detonated himself to this point so that might indicate he wants to live.
Probably having a lot of second thoughts at the moment. "Sounded like a good idea at the time," probably won't save him from never seeing the light of day again if he's caught. You'd just like to know first hand how all this came about. Capture is better than smoking him.

It might be the lowest attendance ever but they need to get these games in at some point.

All I could find was the Bruins-Senators game. With the lockout this season started well after hurricane season finished.

If they have him in their sights and he so much as breathes too quick, they pull the trigger. His jackass brother had a suicide vest on.

Really depends on whether this lockdown situation ends in the next 3 hours or so. If an apprehension is made by 5 or so, maybe even as late as 6 if you push back the start time, I don't see why the game wouldn't go ahead or why people wouldn't attend.

I was thinking 3-4 p.m. might be the point of no return, but I never thought of pushing back the start time. That might make more sense if it ends in a couple hours given the limited time left in the season.

When you hear about suicide bombers though, the head is blown into orbit, the torso is rocketed in all directions and the legs go for a long walk. He's pretty much intact even though the comment is he might have detonated an explosive device.
