^ truly stunning stupidity. I don't even know what to say anymore.

Watching it again, the questioner does say something about Muslim terror camps so perhaps Trump was replying to that, but still he could have said something when the questioner was bashing Muslims and calling Obama one.
That's all great. But right-wingers the world over have shown time and again to not care about scientific evidence at all. So I doubt this changes anything for the type of person that would vote for Trump anyways.
As most of you probably know I spend a lot of time being involved in GMO, Vaxx, climate change debates. I would say that there is really no reality to suggesting the right or left are any better or worse at believing bull#### and denying science and reality.
In my GMO groups I find a lot of conservatives, in the climate change groups its a lot of liberals, but what you learn is that people have their own biases and its hard to challenge and change those beliefs.
You have to as a true skeptic challenge your own ideas and beliefs on a regular basis, expose yourself to other ideas and counter arguments and reason yourself into your positions the best you can. Don't be afraid to admit you were wrong, or even admit you don't know.
We just hosted Stephen Law here in Iceland talking about his book believing in bull#### and it takes a great deal of effort these days to not be fooled by the world we live in, we have so much information available now that there is a ton of misinformation that follows with that availability.

Donald Trump is taking flak from fellow Republicans for not correcting a supporter who said US President Barack Obama was a Muslim and not American.
Quote:
South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham said Mr Trump acted inappropriately and he should apologise. Mr Trump has cancelled his appearance at a big Republican event on Friday.
Quote:
The criticism has been piling up since a man at Mr Trump's rally in New Hampshire on Thursday night prefaced a question by saying Mr Obama was a Muslim and "not even an American".
The supporter went on to say: "We have a problem in this country - it's called Muslims."
Mr Trump let it go unchallenged and within a few hours, Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton said his failure to denounce "hateful rhetoric" was "disturbing and wrong".

Thanked but feel it needs to be quoted. When I go on Facebook, Twitter, or watch news networks one of the most troubling things is that generally we seek out and confirm those who share our own view point, while discrediting those presenting different ideas. To really move forward we have to challenge ourselves and recognize the full range of opinions.
I'm really disturbed by a couple of key things in regards to the question at the Trump rally.
a) most of the criticism of the question and lack of Trump's response, has been about the inaccuracy of the President's religion, not the fact that the guy basically said "we have a problem in this country - Muslims". Surely that should be the more disturbing part. The president is the most irrelevant part of this entire statement.
b) the fact that someone has the audacity to so comfortably ask such a horrendous question and not be immediately ripped to shreds (figuratively) by the person at the podium, and the people around him.
Seriously, WTF is wrong with people in the US? This isn't some field in the deep south, this is very public, televised, and mainstream event. There is some crazy fascist and bigoted tendencies occurring that aren't even bubbling below the surface anymore. People are trying to galvanize around their fear and hatred of others.
This kind of question would never go over in Canada.

While senator McCain's response was better than Trump's, I wouldn't say that's the way to respond to that garbage.
"No ma'am, he's not an Arab, he's a decent guy" wtf?
As for Trump and the questioner, I can't believe crap like that goes on in the US. A proper answer would have been something like "hey I'm going to stop you right there, Muslims are absolutely not a problem in America and are an important part of this great country. Next question please"

An answer like that would hurt Trump in the polls, considering who his base are

In fact he was probably very happy with that question, as it allowed him to be semi-associated with a stupid belief that his voting base attaches themselves to, but doesn't leave a personal quote trail of him bringing it up or responding directly to it.
