Not going but I think missing The Shins for St. Vincent would be my biggest set time conflict.

Anyways just a reminder to stay tuned to this on the weekend as they are streaming it again. http://www.youtube.com/user/coachella/live

Dislike the holo-2Pac during the Dre/Snoop set.

Last edited by no_joke; 04-16-2012 at 12:23 PM. Reason: interwebs referring to it as the 2Pac hologram

I wonder if they switch it up for next week and do a tribute for Easy-E instead, that would be my guess.

Rumor has it, that it might be Nate Dogg.

I think they should have ended with 2pac instead. That was so dope.

Flying down to Palm Springs today, going to go watch the Kings destroy the Canucks in LA as well before heading back for Coachella.

Question for those there the first weekend - how easy is it to get in and out of the event? I have a place that is right next door, with its fence bordering on the Polo grounds where Coachella is held, but I'm wondering if it is worth getting a bunch of food and eating there for lunch-dinner, or if I might as well eat from the undoubtedly overpriced vendors onsite.

It is a bit of a hassle to get into the venue. You're looking at about a 30/45 minutes waiting in a security line unless you get super lucky.

Honestly, the food in the venue is fantastic and pretty reasonably priced. You won't be spending more than $10 on a meal.

Ya, the food is priced pretty good. Beer on the other hand......

My suggestion is to sneak booze in - they search you but it's not super intense. You can sneak liquor in using a bag if you hide it in small pockets inside. Some friends of mine emptied out some sun tan lotion bottles and filled them with vodka and that worked like a charm.

Obviously the 2Pac hologram stole the show, but how anyone of you lucky travelers catch Refused's set?

Nah, I was at the Swedish House LAAAAAAZERS. It was pretty awesome.

A couple of my friends checked out Refused and they loved it.

Yeah I managed to manoeuvre my way through the crowd and made it into the pit for Refused. So crazy in there, everybody was screaming every word, I got chills when everybody yelled "CAN I SCREAM" during New Noise. Probably in the top 10 shows of the weekend for me

Coachella 2013 tickets go on sale Thursday! They are doing two weekends again, the first weekend is April 12th-14th. Passes are up to $350 and available on the layaway program again.

This is nuts.

I'm thinking of doing both weekends this year. Would definitely help with getting rid of a few dilemmas
