i think that population will become pretty much extinct by the end of the week. people will either get frustrated enough to become buyers or frustrated enough to just quit playing HUT. it took me a game or two of playing to start doing the math on how many pucks i earned a game versus how many contract cards i was going to need.

yes. I believe it was stated by the EA team on one of the live chats pre-launch that training cards are the only way to have a player evolve towards their potential.

I’m thinking now that this might not be possible due to two or more people engaging in win-trading.

Well, I haven't bought any packs. I upgraded my goaltender and a winger through auctions, and had my first Hut win! :-)

Neat.
Now can they fix the 'unsigned prospect' problem?

I got Filpula and a bunch of low 70's for my top 2 lines, and an AHL goalie who's decent (75ish) Offline tournaments aren't too bad, I've played 5 games (1 tourney win) and have about 2300 pucks. My last win gave me just over 500 pucks, I think it's the Spring Tournament or something. Do you get more pucks for online games?

The 7500 pack gives you double what the 2500 pack does right? Puck-wise that would make the 2500 pack more economical; but actual dollar wise the 7500 pack is only twice as expensive and comes with an extra rare I think, making it more economical. (I think?)

ya I am saving up for 7500 ones, it gives you 4 or 5 rare cards and I think the 2500 only gives 1 or 2?

Saving up for the 7500 pack is good if you have enough contract cards or bench players to get there...Otherwise I would just go for the 2500 pack until you get a good amount of extra players or contracts

I'm in the process of saving up for a 7500 pack. On my way there though, I've been buying the occasional peewee 600 pack to top off contracts. So far, the peewee packs have been full of contract cards..usually 4 contacts cards and 2 60's players. This has enabled me to keep my top 3 lines intact.
I am going to see how long I can go without buying cards with real $$. So far I'm 15-1-1 with my team. (only 1 game played and won online though...the rest in tournaments) My top non-NHL player is a 75. Jeff Finger is my only NHLer. My goalie is from a Euro league and he has an 89 potential, currently 79.
I still believe you can build a solid team without paying extra. Just need to grind through it. Also, I believe you can re-play tournaments for some extra pucks.
I want at least 2 or 3 more NHLers before I go back online.

I got a few NHLer's from my free packs. Duchene is my star but I have Lapierre as well who seems fast in comparison to other players. I also have Taylor Hall on my first line and he has potted a few goals. My D is thin and my goalie is terrible so I definitely need to upgrade.
