So far Kevin Kolb is getting mixed reviews at Eagles camp. He's had some nice plays but is dealing with some consistency issues. Mike Vick, on the other hand, has supposedly been very sharp. According to a lot of things I've read, Riley Cooper has been the star of camp thus far.
And for the CFL fans, Martel Mallett has been garbage for the most part. I'd be shocked if he's still on the team after the first preseason game.

Thanks for the Eagle notes. I think Philly will end up playing both QB's. Jackson's injury is only minor right?
In Indy, Mathis and Wayne were the two guys who were threatening to hold out as they both want new contracts. Both guys skipped the 3 day minicamp but both are at main camp which is good news. It's all business like at camp where as last year Reggie Wayne drove in with a dump truck and had a Wayne construction company hat and vest on. Indy is not allowing full access to media members or fans for the first time in a long time.
Bob Sanders and Anthony Gonzalez are the two questions on the injury front but both guys seem to be doing well. The recievers are already in sync it seems at camp which is good news.
Indy signed cornerback Deshea Townsend today. He played in Pittsburgh for the last 12 years. I am somewhat familiar with him but do any Steeler fans have more knowledge on him? I seem to like the move with the veteran presence in the cornerback spot.

Watching SportsCentre either on Friday or Saturday night and they said he had been cut by the Eagles.

The NFL you have to get yours now, the CBA is so much in the owners' favor its ridiculous. Hopefully this is fixed in the next CBA. The Jets so far are offering him 5 mil for this year with no guaranteed money according to rumors. That's ridiculous. That said Revis will be there in the first game it will get done. In the meantime Wilson gets some good reps as a starter in camp.

I thought I was right on the contract. ESPN is wrong. From the NY Post http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/jetsbl...rGJfercmF30X4I:
Quote:
One perception that has been misinterpreted by some through this is the issue of Revis’ final two years of the existing contract, which call for him to receive a guaranteed $20 million if the team decides to buy it out.
In other words, if Revis wanted to become a free agent after the 2010 season, the Jets would have the option of either letting him test the free agent waters or they could opt to pay him the $20 million for 2011 and 2012, all guaranteed money.
However, if Revis was to play for the $1 million this year and suffer a career-threatening injury like Washington’s might turn out to be, the Jets could cut him after this year and Revis would never see that $20 million.

Nick Mangold is in the same bloody situation as Darrelle Revis but he showed up to camp. Huge thumbs to Mangold for showing up to camp.

Its not homerism I said hes top 5. I just think after one great year and a couple of good years you don't act selfish, why not report to camp while they renegotiate a deal, you and I both know the Jets want to keep him around.

Not saying he is, I am just saying he and the media hype him to be head and shoulders above the rest which he is not in my opinion. Sorry, I didn't notice him to be a difference maker till last year, its not like he's getting pad 1 million a year, he had 36 million gauranteed on the table did he not and he walked away from 20 million which is greed in my opinion. I saw your post above and yah there is some stuff in that deal that the Jets could weasel out I guess wouldn't you want to not pay someone 20 million if he can't play. There in a violent business, injuries happen, however most are not career threatening. I still think he is going about it the wrong way.

Terrel Owens is that you?
I got a question for the ones interested in Revis. I thought I recall Revis held out his rookie year because he wanted this deal? Is that correct.
Also I read his uncle played for the Redskins and he held out for a whole year, do you think he has any input on Revis Islands situation?

Sean Gilbert is his uncle and yes he held out a season once before. Answer this question... Why should players have to hold to signed contracts when teams don't have to?

Nick Mangold is making close to 4 mil this year should be making $8-10. Revis is making $1 mil and should be making $12-16.

Where are you getting $36 mil guaranteed from? His rookie contract had $11 mil guaranteed and a team option for $20 mil more which would have been smaller had Revis not earned certain incentives. Leon Washington is one of Revis' best friends. Washington decided not to holdout last year and look what happened. His career might be over, think that might of had an effect on Revis' decision?

SOWA-what's the plan with Tomlinson?
Having watched him a lot over the years, I really think his 'decline' has a lot more to do with his OL in San Diego than it does him. I think he could payoff huge.

Well Plan A is to have him spell Shonn Greene who was a beast at the end of the season and the playoffs. Tomlinson will probably play more passing downs as he is a better receiver out of the backfield. I guess there's always the chance Tomlinson returns to form and beats Greene out, but realistically I only see him starting if Greene gets injured, which isn't out of the realm of possibility since he is somewhat injury prone and refuses to run out of bounds. I see Greene getting ~25 touches a game and Tomlinson ~15-18.
One of my favorite picks this year by the Jets and savior of the world FB John Conner is apparently making Ryan fall in love as he has knocked the wind out of several linebackers early in camp. I doubt he will win the starting job over Tony Richardson, but I love everything I've read and seen about this guy.
PS Jets signed Brunell a couple days ago to be backup. Who wants Kellen Clemens?

Why not report to camp? I can come up with a million reasons, but a three letter word that springs to my mind immediately is ACL. Guess when I tore my ACL? In training camp in college. Pretty much ended my career. If I had tens of millions of dollars up in the air I'd stay miles away from that.

They do, that is why they get fined for holding out.

I guess we will never agree on this. I see your point and it creates for a valid argument, but I stick to my argument which is honouring the contract you signed.
I am sure this is also one hot topic that will be part of the new CBA discussions, obviously the first one will be rookie contracts in my opinion.
