Why time does South Park air on Comedy Central on Sunday? I'll have to break out the old TV for this one. It's been awhile since I've sat down to something aired on a TV :P

If you have CN-E and W it'll be on pretty much all day and night.

If you only have regular cable I think it is on at 7pm, 10 and 1am.

well apparently Comedy Central has removed the old episode Super Best Friends from their streaming website, but it's still available on thecomedynetwork.ca. funny how they could show Muhammed with no problem a few years ago and nobody freaked out

Original air date: July 4, 2001. Two months before Americans really cared if they did anything to upset radical Muslims.

^^^ Good point. Yeah I had to go back and check that myself when I watched 200 this week.

A fun episode. Can't wait to see how it turns out. Deliciously over the top.

There was also no big muslim response in arms to that episode. 9/11 was a flashpoint for both sides of the coin.

After 9/11, Islamic extremists started to scrutinze more things and their influence grew with the indignation Islamic extremists all over became more inflamed with the Afghan/Iraq wars. Whoever it was that declared the fatwah against the cartoonist started all this.

Well, it appears that Comedy Network is not airing the follow up episode because of Comedy Central's censorship of the original US airing. They have pulled any repeats of the episode on its own network:

From Wikipedia:

"201" was pulled from the slots South Park would usually repeat during the week, and episodes from earlier in the season were shown instead. Although South Park Studios generally makes unexpurgated versions of their episodes immediately available to view, the notice indicated Parker and Stone did not have network approval to show their original version, and thus no version of "201" could be seen on the website.[10][16] The episode was not aired in the United Kingdom, and is not available via the digitial media store iTunes.[17] Neither Comedy Central, nor Parker and Stone, commented on why the episode was censored, but media outlets suggested that it was linked to the threats by Revolution Muslim.[18][19][20] Before the episode aired, the New York City Police Department increased security at the Comedy Central headquarters in direct response to the threats. Law enforcement officials said Revolution Muslim itself was "all talk" and had never engaged in any actual violence, but they were concerned that the website post could inspire violence from others.[21][22]

Count me as extremely pissed off about this.

So far, no luck on that. It's being bleeped out pretty badly here.

Which I find hilarious how you will hear a cuss word, just fine but "Mohammed" will be bleeped out. And have a huge black "Censored" bar over him.

No, I've got the"Comedy Network" [crappier Canadian version of CC], which has been airing the new episodes of South Park on Sunday nights; tonight though they are showing a rerun.

I should note that the description of the show when I hit "info" on the remote describes the new episode.

I have a version of 201 where muhummad is not bleeped everytime they say his name but the monologues are bleeped out so I don't know the moral of the story and I have to know!

Sorry, I have Comedy Network too. Fellow Canadian. I thought it was called Comedy Central. And I'm watching the new episode right now. They are bleeping out a whole speech by Kyle right now.

And yes, it is censored badly. There was a whole speech by Jesus and Santa bleeped out right after Kyle.

Ugh I just realized that I had it on the East Coast network, not the west [which 201 was on]. Now I am pissed at myself.

I just caught the end where the entire speech starting with Kyle was bleeped.

It's replaying at 1am if you have a PVR or willing to stay up that late.

Unfortunately the answers to both are no, and no.

I will just have to catch the episode another time, and hopefully without the lame censoring.

I wonder if the DVD/Blu-ray releases will have it completely uncensored.

It's a bloody tv show, how can people get THIS worked up over something so minimal. Think rationally, is this really that bad? I'll never understand religion.

My guess is that the big ending speech was intentionally written as a bleep so as to take a subtle jab at Comedy Central's censorship of the episode. I'd be surprised if there was an 'uncensored' version floating out there somewhere.

The irony in all this is that Muhammad was already depicted once in the first Super Best Friends episode. Of course, this was before 9/11 and the Western world wasn't so paranoid about terrorist attacks and Islamic violence and such.

I am disappointed that Canada did not get the uncensored version, but I am not surprised.

What is ironic is that they were allowed to show muhammad in the episode Super Best Friends.
