It's hard not to feel ill-will towards a team full of Canucks and Red Wings.

Bring over Jagr too.
Iggy, Jagr, and Forsberg on one line. Too bad it's not 2002 anymore.

Finland was all over them for the most part, though.
Germany is doing a much better job than the Roos did. I fear one goal from them, though, and the Swedes just let loose like a few of the other teams have done so far when things go too close.

Dude Canuck fan boi, This is a Calgary Flames board. I can understand you on a Canuck board but don't try your huggy bear diving burrows crap here.

Yea but it semmed like one of those games where they would just get that flukey tying goal, but 6 or whatever amounts shots they had doesn't cut it.
Germany can pull it off, they have looked good but they gotta finish on their powerplays.

The IIHF referee is really brutal. The Swedish and German player kinda got tied up together. That was so not a penalty. Or a holding penalty to both of them...

Backstrom is so amazing. People always talk about Ovechkin (rightfully) but Backstrom is one of the best set up men in the entire game.

I hope Germany ties it up so that we can see some late on-ice theatrics from Sedin, Sedin, Forsberg to try and draw a penalty from nothing. What a show those three would put on. They might need wires to facilitate all the aerial acrobatics.

I think his issue is the amount of people acting like annoying kids.
Most people here have already put their hatred for Nhl teams aside and have looked at this like a fresh tournament, where the only thing that matters is Our team. Canada
Think hes just hoping for a drop in the petty "I hate x player cause hes from x team, and x team sucks!"
Theres just a few that are like that, and they appear to be the ones who are most "annoying kid" like. Hopefully as the games progress the pettiness will dissapate and the focus will just be on watching great hockey and seeing Canada win that gold.

This quote surprises me a little. At least from my perspective, it seems to be the Canuck fans that are cheering on Our nation, and the Flames fans being petty about individual hockey players because they belong to an nhl team they dislike. (Ive yet to see a Canuck fan in the olympics forum state they despise Iginla and hope he falls even if i means Canada loses, and ive seen a few Flame's fans post they hope Luongo fails miserably and we lose out on a medal because of it)
That being said, The VAST majority here are pro Canada and don't give a damn about what team they are on, as its Canada and nothing else that matters.. At least until March 1st

I dunno. My allegiance/rivalries are still with the Flames. If Canada were to meet Finland in the finals, I would be honestly torn who to cheer for.
And since the Sedins are still on a rival team, we are still allowed to hate them even by your definition.

Oh I have zero issue hating them because they are Swedish. In this tourney I hope they fail miserably
My allegiance is with the Canucks. Always has been, always will be, but when the olympics are being played, there is zero question in my mind that I want Canada to win.
Granted I can't tell you how weird it felt to be excited for an Iginla Hat trick!
