I don't remember if I watched the entire season that Parvati won... but she back stabbed her way to 1 million didn't she?
Amanda played it safe the whole game and was the nice one, Parvati the bitch and she still won? I guess it just depends..
The only real no brainer for winning was Tom, there was no way you could vote other wise. He didn't lie or cheat or steal or anything, he just played the game honestly and kicked fricken ass. If he didn't win I would have never watched a survivor season again.
I missed Russel's season so I am watching it now in between episodes of this year. So far he is pretty funny. "I am a multi millionaire, I don't even care about the money I Just want to show everyone how easy it is to win this game."
But lets not forget Boston Rob here. This guy is a fierce competitor and guys like Russell are only able to be where they are at in this game because of pioneers like Rob. I would never count him out, especially not right now where even with Coach he still has a chance to make Russell pick rocks.

I think with Boston Rob, because of the accent and because of the dopey look, we write him off as dumb. But he's got the game figured out. However his big mistake now is that he's been very upfront with Russell about wanting him gone.
Russell completely played Rob's alliance, and obviously Rob over estimated his influence on his nest of morons.

Russell's had two advantages on Rob. He's played with the immunity idols before and he's seen Rob's game while Rob has no clue how Russell played in his season. If Rob had seen Russell's game, his tactics would have been different.
That is a good point. Russell is a one trick pony, after this he will never get to play again. He will be Richard Hatch black marked, meaning in any scenario he is the first one voted out because you HAVE to.
Boston Rob is in his third run at this and is still going strong because his type of game is adaptable and respectable.
If Russell wins I will beat the ever living crap out of a 6 month old puppy.

Has that been documented anywhere?? Because that would be a huge advantage to Russel if no one had ever seen him play. How do we know that the other players didn't ask or recieve the video of Russell's episodes before they taped this current game??
It just seems EXTREMELY unfair to have a guy in the show that no one else knew while he had already seen them play on one or two occasions.

It's been documented that the other players didn't see Russell's season. But they could also say that Russell was at a disadvantage because he played in back to back seasons and might have not had the time to prepare for the current season that the other players did.

I'm not saying I don't believe you, but I'd love to see an article about this. It just seems really messed up to me.

Probst said it in an interview somewhere, they filmed these seasons back to back (like they are doing with all of them from now on I think), there was like a 10 day break so Russel's survivor had not aired yet
found something else that says it, not the probst interview
Quote:
He's ba-a-ack...tonight!
Jeff Probst promises the contestants in tonight's "fantastic" premiere of Heroes vs. Villains are "20 of the best ever," but we're most excited about the return of last season's controversial runner-up, Russell Hantz.
Everyone who watched the Samoa season knows he was straight-up robbed of victory, so this time around will Russell—now a "Villain"—go all the way?
We talked to Jeff and a few of Russell's Heroes vs. Villains costars and—Spoiler Alert!—here's what they tell us exclusively...
"Coach" Ben Wade, who admits he's "not smart enough to win" (no comment), slipped up when he told us this after filming the new season:
"It's pretty unfair that we didn't know how [Russell] played. If he were to play that game starting today, he'd be the first one out, no question...If he ever plays again he won't make it out of the first round."
So it sure sounds like Russell will go far. Right?
"Russell's a character," Rob continues. "You know what's crazy? Watching him on TV after [we filmed], because we didn't know him when we went out there. And seeing all the stuff he pulled [on Samoa]—it's very entertaining."
Russell is the best player the show has ever seen.
he definitely has the numbers now.
The thing with him is, he doesn't need absolute numbers because of the wildcard of him finding immunity idols and his ability to play specific players when the time is right.
he needs a small, solid voting block of loyal women, and that's it.
Coach, in my opinion, is now firmly on board with Russell making it 4-4, and if Boston Rob does anything to alienate someone in his alliance (including something small like talking down to them, dismissing ideas etc), that person is ripe for the picking.
All he needs is for them to vote with him once, exactly the way he played Tyson.
The guy is awesome, can't believe he didn't win the first one.
I think the smartest thing he did was telling coach about loyalty when he got up to make the speech.
I have no doubt he has Coach making it 4-4 at least.
Ya but look at Coach the guy is an idiot. He flips sides daily, he talks about loyalty but plays two sides constantly.
He will say he is loyal to Russell or they will show you that clip, but not the clip where he tells Rob nah im voting with you, like they always do to make it suspenseful.. then at tribal council Russell is gone.
I am watching his original season right now and the guy is a great player, but he is with some weak, weak minded people in his tribe. Nobody is doing anything to further themselves in the game they are just focusing on the challenges.. bunch of rookies.
Also as has already been stated, his style of game is a one trick pony. He was fortunate that he was able to play the same style of game this time around, but even Boston Rob is seeing through this and has identified "sit back and let people cut each others throats" Russell as a snake and a threat just like Betsy did, only this time Betsy (Robb) has the numbers.
Russell is done.

I don't think Russell is a one trick pony at all. For all the talk about his ability to root out immunity idols, his best skill is sizing up other players so that he knows who is a threat and who is able to be manipulated. It's also Boston Rob's best skill too and probably the most valuable to have in the game.
Russell has been adept at having others underestimate him and he's excelled at challenges when needed.
So Survivor-Samoa didn't start airing until the day after Heroes/Villains actually finished taping.

Your not going to be happy when he makes it realllly far...
