People should also realize that playing 5 game parlays are a waste of money. You might as well go play bingo at that point. Parlay's are a fools game, which is why I only partake in them for giggles. You make money off of straight bets.

True enough! But even worst if you are playing for giggles and also having 20% stolen by the government! That's the definition of insanity!

Yes and no, parlays could mean anything between 2 and 20 games or more,
For example i feel much more comfortable tonight taking a two game parlay of Pit and Cgy with odds coming out over 2 to 1 as opposed to taking a coin flip game like say, L.A and Edmonton tonight.

Oh and the first two tags for this thread are epic!

And yes Jason14h, couldnt agree more with the proline assessment, not only do they bend you over with the juice but they added that stupid tie element.

You may feel more comfortable picking those teams straight up, but you're not going to make any money unless there's a spread, which in turn makes it harder on your parlay.

And thats what seperates stupid parlays, and smart ones, greed.

No im parlaying the two, Cgy and Pit, and i meant parlaying those two
as opposed to taking a teasm thats a coin flip which both work out
to about 2 to 1, is the safer bet to me.

so, if i do things right, i only need to hit 1 in 4 bets to keep my money going. yes, as the level increases, the dangers of losing increase and profits decrease....but i've been pretty good at not getting greedy, so most of my bets are in the level 1 & 2 ranges.

i hope this all made sense, and of course, a spreadsheet to keep track of it all! i also only bet on hockey.

how have u been doing?

knock on wood, i've always been playing with house money!

about 2 weeks into the season, i was projecting to finished the season around +$400. i had a bit of a rough patch, but still project to do quite well. not bad really when my money making bet is only $2.

I'm giving your theory a try. I'm being pretty modest because of the horrible month I have but today I have $20 on Pittsburgh and Chicago.

I also have $20 on Miami and Carolina for Sunday.

Had a nice evening last night. $20 on a 3-game parlay of Pittsburgh, Minnesota, and Boston scored me $60.

Picks in bold for the weekend.

San Diego @ Tennessee -3
Seattle @ Green Bay -14
Oakland @ Cleveland -3
Kansas City @ Cincinnati -13.5
Buffalo @ Atlanta -9
Houston @ Miami -3
Carolina @ NY Giants -7
Tampa Bay @ New Orleans -14
Jacksonville @ New England -9
Baltimore @ Pittsburgh -3
Denver @ Philadelphia -7
St. Louis @ Arizona -14
Detroit @ San Francisco -13
NY Jets @ Indianapolis -5.5
Dallas @ Washington +6.5

I really like Jacksonville, San Diego, and Buffalo to beat the spreads in their respective games. Miami should cover against Houston.

Seeing the upsets last night im going to put it out there:

Proline 3 game ticket:
Belarus@ 9.00
Czk@ 1.05
Fin/Ger Tie 7.40

Well worth it IMO for $15 to win $1050.

Crazy yes, but so was the swiss hanging in with Canada and Slovakia beating Russia.

I had this ticket last night:

Vand@ 3.25
Pitt@ 4.00
Slovakia/Russia tie 6.00

$10 pays $780
Vand only won by 4 points(need to win by 6) which cost me. Didnt find out until this morning when I checked the scores of the other 2 games which started later so I didnt pay attenton to them since they didnt matter anymore....

HELL YEAH! NFL is back so we are back on! I've started with the game on Thursday, but since I'm technically a starving student I'm only playing two really small bets.

$6 on New Orleans -4.5 over Minnesota
$5 on OVER 48
