I had my Shaw modem unplugged for a couple of hours while I re-wired the data lines in the house. After plugging it back in and running speed test I was up to ~12 MBPS; and that is with my service technically disconnected.

No emails for me yet, I'm hoping it fixes the issue that I have where my shiny new modem resets itself a lot.

Got my email today, went from 4.5 to 6.6@5:30pm.
Can't complain. I'll try it again later and see what happens.

Okay, I just called and got switched to Xtreme-I and got repushed. It didn't seem to work. Now I unplugged my modem for an hour and plugged it back in.
I'm still getting like 4-5MBps only! (on speedtest.net)
What are you guys on Shaw Xtreme-I getting on average on speedtest.net or the shaw speedtest? From this thread it looks like you guys are about getting the advertised 15MBps right?

Xtreme user here...this is what I got.
I'll get up over 22 sometimes, other times around 10, so yeah I guess around 15 is average.

Are you guys plugged directly into the modem/router or can you achieve those 15K+ KBit/s speeds over wireless? This is driving me to no end, I don't know why I can't get a stable speed. Shaw tells me it should be up and running at Xtreme-I speeds but I can never even get close.
Sometimes I can hit 10,000 but that's in the mornings. At nighttime (neighborhood usage up?) everything slows to a crawl and I end up with 4000 KBit/s. I can't even stream youtube HD movies for some reason I can't figure out. When everything is going around 10K, my youtube streams come in at about 300KB/s (2400 KBit/s) which is just about watchable.
When I plug my computer into the router, it stabilizes somewhat and I can hit around 10,000 KBit/s but even if the problem is the wireless adapter, it still drops to about 4000 KBit/s when plugged in at night or high usage times. Speaking of the wireless adapter, shouldn't a 54MBps wireless G adapter with Super G Dynamic Turbo be able to at least max out my internet connection? Is there something wrong in the interface (USB) that is causing me to drop half to two thirds the total speed of my connection?

The speeds I posted are direct connection to the router. I do have a wireless in the house though. I'll test it and post results for you when i get a chance.

That's 149,022
but it's actually a problem as it will hang up for a while before carrying on, as after the download it will take a couple of minutes before the upload part of the test begins. I think it's a network problem with my computer. Does any one have any ideas?

Is anyone having slower internet these days? I'm getting about 6.8Mpbs which is lower then I got before when the increase went live.
