The Vivint stuff works OK, and the app is fine, but I am basically $40/month to use the app that doesn't really do much.

Can I cancel my Vivint subscription and still use their equipment?

yep, just won't have access to the app.

I have transferred from ADT to Telus. inbetween that merge I worked for a local company for a year.

My perspective. For more bang for your buck - Telus all the way. You can get alot of devices, cameras and automation equipment at greatly discounted pricing. Plus additional bundle pricing.

If you go to the smaller companies, they do not have the overhead to lower their costs and you may see alot of nickel and dime-ing. I also found that all the smaller companies contract out their monitoring and (depending on the outsourced company) can take a while to respond to an alarm.

It sucks that I am recommending a big company but after 18 years in the business, its what i have concluded.
You transferred your job to Telus?

Is there a huge Csnarpy discount code you can share?

I recently moved and have Telus. Is there a way to use it with Homekit and/or Aqara?

Thanks - and based on your earlier post you think Telus is a good offering?

Cheers,

Ring Pro users can generate an alarm certificate via the website that both TD and Aviva have accepted as proof of insurance for a discount. Heck TD even accepted non monitored systems.

Won't disagree with you that DSC type wired systems are better, but it doesn't matter to some insurance companies.
