Doesn't matter, contracts in the CFL aren't guaranteed. They can just release him when he gets older. Guaranteed money is all that matters.

Awesome news! I'm a Hank fan, so I'm pretty happy. He's a great guy, a stand up leader and he plays some mean football. Guys like that, you keep around.

Burris deserves the new contract imo. He finally took the team to the promised land, shook the monkey off his back and established himself as the true leader of this team. This is a guy who is very important in the community as well. Nice signing.

yeah, in the CFL, there's pretty much no risk in signing players to long contracts. Even less risk than the NFL.

Real question here, what is the difference? Is it easier to release players in the CFL or what?

not exactly sure, but he could be referring to the massive signing bonuses that are given out in the nfl (ie guaranteed money) vs the cfl. at least thats all i can think of

CFL bonuses aren't that big, When you consider the star QB will make around 400K a year, the signing bonus isn't much. Therefore you can release a guy whenever teams feels like it. Like the Stamps releasing Armour, he was probably making over 100K but gone with no penalty (besides the original bonus they probably paid him)
