1-0 United, Scholes after 14 minutes. What a missle!
Now let's keep Barca off the sheet.
1-0 Final, Old Trafford is electric.
First all English final in the history of the tourny.

Any predictions for today's game?
Personally I think this game will be not be as tight as some are predicting, I think it will end up 2-2 and Liverpool will go through on away goals. There is just something about Liverpool in the Champions league, they are extremely difficult to beat in this competition. I don't think Chelsea can keep Torres at bay I see him scoring. Basically as odd as it sounds I think a 1-1 first leg score actually suited Liverpool as had they have won 1-0 they would have come to Stamford Bridge trying to protect that lead. Now they know have to score and realistically it doesn't make much of a difference if Chelsea score one goal either, Liverpool still need to score.
2-2. Liverpool go to Moscow to face United.

Is this a good thing? Or just an indication that England has the most $ to buy talent?

Then, this is not a good thing. Remember when Ajax used to be a European power? Now they can't afford to keep their best home-grown players. How many English players actually play for a team like Arsenal?

This has been talked about for a long time now. The English FA even considered having a minimum English requirement for a time.

you're so cynical locke and troutman!
england is probably the biggest market for football - for example i support a shoddy team that is now in one of the lowest divisions after being relegated....this team will still bring in 8'000 supporters every week and we're not even a big club.
Man Utd are nothing like Chelsea in that they have quite a number of british players.
Not only that but football is a sport played and enjoyed by the vast majority of the world so wherever the talent is, the money will follow to simply watch it.
I agree money (TV money specifically) is an evil but it's a way of business that definatley came over from North America and as there, it has damaged the soul of the game.
btw 'The Premier League' company or franchise (whatever they're called) are the one's who struck down that idea of a certain number of english players.
They're one of the most litigous, evil groups i've ever seen - bullying the EU a few years ago put a stop to it. Nevermind the fact that the Premier league doesn't share a dime to the lower leagues like it used to be.

Rangers fans behave like "pack of wolves" after loss in UEFA Cup Final:
http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Soccer/200...574306-ap.html
The worst violence occurred after the game as hundreds of Rangers fans - described by police as a "pack of baying wolves" - went on the rampage late Wednesday and early Thursday.
Closed-circuit video footage released by police Thursday showed mobs of fans surging toward riot police, who were forced to retreat. The footage shows one policeman, who was separated from the other officers, being tripped to the ground and then attacked by about 20 people.
Police said the officer suffered a broken arm.
Another policeman was hit so hard his electronic earpiece was embedded in his head and later removed by doctors. Another lost his front teeth after being headbutted.
Other injuries included bruised and cracked ribs, a dislocated shoulder, a broken finger and arm, and cuts needing stitches. A police dog was also injured.
Fans also abused and threatened ambulance crews racing to the scene to help the injured.
In a separate incident, a Russian fan was stabbed outside the City of Manchester Stadium before the match, and five people later arrested. The fan's injuries were described as non life-threatening.

Police in Manchester have released CCTV images showing up to 200 football fans chasing officers and attacking one of them after the Uefa Cup final.

this should be an outstanding match... no love lost between these two teams... and if Chelsea doesn't win... one would likely expect a mass exodus, starting with Grant, and continuing with a good 6-7 players.
