They pretty much shook off Dupont's goal, which was a great rush, but that second one killed the Wheaties.

Mercer's feed to Covington for the 3-1 goal was a thing of beauty, as was his shot.
Plante had his stick out to block a pass into the slot area, hit about halfway up the shaft of the stick and between his legs. Brandon goal bounced off of Spence's glove and in, he just mis-played it. Both happened right in front of me. Here's something I never thought I'd say, Calgary's going to the Eastern Conference championship.

Hmm. I thought that went waist high, right through Plante and the post. But I was on the complete wrong side of the ice, so I'll defer to your view.

Should Vancouver win the West final, the winner of the Hitmen - Tigers series would get an automatic berth in the Memorial Cup along side Vancouver.

Hitmen fans should cheer for the Cougars tomorrow night, cause Everett has owned the Giants this season..

PG up 2-0 already, about eight minutes in. Irving has already been pulled. Ouch.

Edit: 3-0 now 13 minutes in. Wow!

Snakeeye are you listening to the game? Cause on whl.ca it says EVT has 0 shots on goal through 17 minutes!

Yeah, listening online. whl.ca is very slow to update shots, so I wouldnt put any stock into it. PG has had to make a few good saves so far.

6-0 PG now, on less than 20 shots, only 5 minutes into the second. A brutal butt-ending penalty cost the Silvertips two goals.

8-2 final. Irving and the Silvertips simply collapsed this series.

Are the fans in PG still holding a coup against Rick Brodsky or did they show up. Weren't the Cougars having attendance issues, and the fans were trying to force Rick "Joe McGrath" Brodsky to sell the team to a new ownership group? I know the people up there love their hockey, but Brodsky is like the Bill Wirtz of WHL owners.

They were, but winning cures all. Standing room only crowd last night. The first sellout in PG since 1999 according to the radio broadcast last night.

Yeah, when I lived there in 96 and they made the playoffs for the first time ever that town went nuts especially after the first two home games when they had a 3-1 lead on Portland. I can remember the 50-50 draw in the West finals being like $17000 in a building with 5600 people in it. But it wasn't until the third home game that the "fever" caught on.

I'm going to Game 1 and 2 on Friday and Saturday at the Coliseum, it'll be interesting to see how many Cougars fans make the trip down here for the weekend. I remember when the Giants first came into the WHL there would always be a few Cougars fans in town for games.. Really good to see that they're on a bit of a rebound. cause Prince George doesn't deserve to lose the team like Victoria did IMO.

Yeah I remember when they played Kamloops they would send a couple busses of fans to Kamloops. One time they had one of the suites in Kamloops and they had to shut the windows in the suite. My Uncle had some good ties to some of the higher ups with the Blazers. I asked him if they closed the window on the Cougar fans for being too loud. He said they were too drunk and they were legitimately concerned that some of them would fall out of the open window!

You don't know if they're serving liquour at the CN centre yet. That place was rowdy enough without the patrons being able to legally intoxicate themselves. I think Micki Dupont once commented "What they're like that without liquor?" when he was told they didn't serve liquor in P.G.

Hitmen having a brutal 2nd period right now. Only one shot half way through this period, Tigers have 10+ shots and 2 goals. 2-0.
