I've read his stuff, and found it to be quite good. I also don't disagree that the Russian Red Army committed some pretty heinous acts against German Civillians, especially with thier rear guard occupational formations which were little more then savages with guns. There was raping, and there was rampant slaughter, and a lot of it was because of the institutional rage that the Red Army felt after witnessing the destruction that the German's laid down in thier country. However if you look at the reputations of the two militaries, its often emphasized that the German Army was fairly professional in its conduct, while the specialized SS formations did the majority of the atrocities. In fact the German regular army did as many or more hideous things to the Russian Civillians that stayed behind then the Red Army did in Germany. But the Russian's have been fairly demonized by thier behaviour in victory. Its a prime example of the victors not writing history from thier perspective.
At the end of the day, with the fact that the world is getting smaller and more diverse, you won't see the axion that the "Victor's write the history"

Minnesota's goaltenders that season were Gilles Meloche and Don Beaupre.
And Gretz scored 4 goals + 4 assists that night for 8 points. The NHL record for goals in a game is 7 set by Joe Malone, 01.31.1920.

I missed the Minnesota reference.
I was thinking more about the Oilers letting 8 goals....
Typical Rollie performance lately....

That game, Jan. 4, 1984, is tied for the second most goals scored by both teams in one game (20). The record is 21, set by the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto St. Pats (14-7 Montreal) 01.10.1920. The Oilers and Blackhawks also did it Dec. 11, 1985: a 12-9 Edmonton win at Chicago Stadium.

I'm not sure why, but the fact that he died in "Heavenly Valley" really made me laugh. I'm disturbed. And why mention his "lesbian daughter". Why isn't it just his daughter? Who cares if she munches rug?

oh yeah.
the original propogandists for the party in the 20s were pornographers and jew-baiters (strange term from back then), real odd individuals.
the public image of national socialism was anti-homosexual and the sexual leanings of the SA leaders was used against them as an excuse for the night of the long knives when the SS rounded them all up, executing a large number and jailing the rest.
homosexuals were among the other targeted groups for concentration camps and later death camps, along with jews, gypsies, communists, etc.
but the high party officials and the court mystics etc. still maintained some kind of warrior-homosexuality, this is something that has hung around the elite class of western culture since greek times.
these days in the states it's referred to as 'the velvet mafia', it's alluded to in the movie 'JFK' and many other strange little bits and pieces in movies etc.
very strange to hear all this 'family value' and gay bashing language from those that lead these double lives, jeez that congressman that was just busted for sexual instant messages was the leader of the missing child foundation!
