I have twice. A police service..not to mention which one...hired a native even when he failed his physical requirements. The guy was over 300 pounds and couldn't pass have the physical requirements...yet they hired him because they needed more native representative within the service. The same hiring competition they hired a female that couldn't pass the PARE test. She weight maybe 80 pounds and could not push the the weights on the push and pull portion of the test. She was hired aswell.
Seeing since there was only 2 positions available I didn't get one, yet I made it right to the final portion of the hiring process.
How does that make you feel that we have people protecting us yet they cannot meet the minimum physical requirements?? Hired only beause the were a visible minority.

Maybe they need the native guy to deal with issues involving native youth, native communities etc..so yeah, okay, he was less qualified than you in the general sense..but maybe he is more qualified than you in terms of the police force having to deal with native communities. Maybe they need some women on the force who can deal with issues of prostitution, domestic abuse, etc...are you more qualified than her in that sense?? Sure you're tougher, stronger, in better shape than the two examples you gave, but there are reasons they hire those other people...its not simply to pick on white guys like you.

Don't talk to me like I have no idea why they chose those people over white males. I have been in law enforcement for over 6 years now.
There is a difference in hiring minorities for the purposes you stated over white males when they MEET the same requirements. It's pretty pathetic when you can only get a job if they lower the standards to hire you. I was not the only one that was ****ed because of this. There was a complaint issued by over 8 people because of what happened out of this ONE incident. It happens all the time.
I was lucky enough that another agency decided to hire me on my qualification rather than my appearance.
I guess my degree wasn't as good as their diploma.

for the sake of the public, judging by some of the posts I've seen from you, i really hope that when you say you're in "law enforcement" you mean mall security, not an actual cop.

We'll I'll be jiggered. They needed more native representation within the service and they hired a native person? That's bureaucracy for you!!!!
I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that the police force in question is comprised of at least 50% white males. I'm also going to guess that a lot of the other applicants who did get the job were also white males. Why couldn't you beat any of them for the job?
The goddamn honkies are as bad as the natives, taking away jobs from qualified English speaking white christian men!!!!!!!!!!!!

On a side note, I was watching Chappelle's show last night and Jermaine Dupri and Charlie Murphy were hosting it. Before one of the sketches one of them said "And this is for all the crackers who ain't here." The sketch was then one skewering white culture. Why do I have a feeling that Jay Leno could not get away with using the N-word in the same way?

It's just as insulting as jungle bunny, porch monkey, or toby.
Actually porch monkey is okay. We're taking it back.

On another note, is there a reason that "slant eyes" is considered racist but "round eyes" isn't?

Maybe because "slant eyes" has been used for generations as an insult. It likely stems from talking down to oriental people a long time ago.
It has more to do with the history of the term, and the intentions of it's use then it does the actual wording.
Same with The "N" word. The reason Jay Leno, or anyone wouldn't get away with saying it is because of it's history.
If white people were slaves for many years and called the "C" word by blacks, then it wouldn't likely be used by blacks in comedy skits today either.

brown guy is fine by me.
But I do get a little annoyed when people constantly ask me where I'm from, so try to avoid that.

So my personal views determine how I do my job? Grow up.
Please bring up any post that I have placed on this website that would make me a bad person as far as law enforcement goes.
And no it's not mall security...but I guess it's ok for you to attack me on a personal level because you don't agree with what I have to say.
