MacKinnon was trying to slow down and steer away from the goalie. Nurse basically steers him into the goalie. At the same time, Ingram aggressively comes out and crashes into him. There was nothing MacKinnon could do other than not try to play the puck at all.

It's actually crazy that with the best player in the league out Col's depth at C is Kadri - Nelson - Roy. That's a pretty good top 9.
