With Ward, once the opposition scored, the game was over. With other coaches, there was a chance the Flames could get going, however miniscule.

Long term, Flames fans should know by now we have to lose to get a Bedard or Celebrini caliber player. Our current players are not cutting it. That's the point.

I see a lot of people that want the Flames to lean into a bad season that are frustrated that you have obvious organizational mouth pieces like Darren Dreger and Pat Steinberg pouring cold water on the team trading veterans.

I think the fanbase should be frustrated with things like "Murray Edwards doesn't want to trade Kadri" or Steinberg constantly saying "the Flames will only trade Kadri and Coleman if they ask to be moved"

Because it just shows that they aren't being proactive. They should be willing to trade anybody over the age of 24 on this roster.

I also see people frustrated with the deployment of young players in this org and the organizations general aversion to taking risks. A guy like Kuznetsov gets called up and looks great and it stands to raise questions on why guys like Kerins, Stromgren, and Morton can't also get a look.

These happy people do a lot of whining and complaining. Especially over third hand reporting that’s half opinion.

There is also a limit to roster size that has to be managed. It’s not that easy. Kerins has had a look and was found wanting in fundamentals. And if 26 year old Morton is a young player then you should be pretty happy that the Flames play so many young players - half the roster.

Basically you are saying you want lip service about the Flames wanting to move players out, which is just silly in the marketplace, sucks for the players and is meaningless at the end of the day.

I was worried this team was starting to roll a little bit but seeing last nights loss I am not feeling that way anymore. Super tough for the Dome crowd to not get to cheer a single goal.

That Jones trade looks to be working for Chicago as Knight is having an incredible start to the year.

It’s almost like losing breeds a losing culture and winning breeds a winning culture , and the amount of vets really doesn’t matter because in the end these are all top athletes who have spent their life competing and losing sucks

Id actually argue the vets are more likely to create a toxic environment then younger players when a team is losing

Trade speculation thread. Sec said the locker room has gone to crap and the young players are not happy that the vets get special treatment while they are on a short leash.

Brett Sutter hockey was pure chaos. I dunno I never felt the Flames were ever in control when gluegun coached.
