I have not read the novellas, just passing on what I've read online at other forums. I guess if he does get older, better to be a bit younger on screen than the Stranger Things scenario of 30 year old's playing high school kids.

What a fantastic show, and flawless use of the main theme song to end the episode. That twat knight switching sides infuriated me. Dunk and Egg are great characters and the actors are killing it.

So, to date, there are only three completed novellas. They take place within about 3 years of each other. So Egg can be a tween/early tween for all of the three that written to date (The Hedge Knight (Season 1), The Sworn Sword, and The Mystery Knight (my Fave).

Martin has, to varying degrees, working titles and sketched out 9 more. He's talked about wanting to end the series with the historic events that ASOIF Lore references (Summerhall) but who knows if the last sketched out novella goes that far.

Allegedly Ira and the show have seen the future novellas outlines, so they could adapt from notes like late stage GoT did ,but frankly I'm not expecting the show to last that long because of the realities of TV these days. Ira (the showrunner) has even talked about how they're going to be even more streached on budget in Season 2 because The Sworn Sword includes a drought setting and you can't just film outside in Ireland.

The length of the episodes is really starting to piss me off.

Damn that was an intense episode. So good.

I saw the trailers for the show and thought “That could be a fun but probably forgettable show but still worth watching.” But it’s kind of a masterpiece.

Really great episode...I wasn't totally sold on the show until now. It could be a bit longer though.

What a great episode and great show overall so far. Echoing some others here; they definitely need more episodes and longer ones too.

The small number of episodes and years between seasons has become an infuriating problem with this era of television/streaming.

I've phased out of many shows because of this. Better Call Saul, The Last of Us, Fallout...
Shows I actually really enjoyed but by the time a new season comes around, I just don't go back for some reason, I've moved on.
Got quite the list of good shows if I ever find the time

Stop what you are doing and finish Saul right now!

I maintain it's perfect. No time for filler, every episode leaves you wanting more. That's what makes this show so good. My 17 year old never watched GOT or had any interest but he loves this show and I think the shorter episodes are good for hooking teenagers with shorter attention spans.

Superb. We get much less content, but it's every bit as good in quality as the prime years of GOT.

A more compact and endearing story though.

Dunc is a tank. An honorable 'mountain'.
