Is Conroy that stubborn to lose Solovyev just to save face with the Hanifin deal, knowing it's a late 1st this year?
When Huberdeau and Pospisil return, I don't care that they're both forwards. If Miro isn't punted at that point, I'll lose a lot faith in Conroy. Especially if Gridin performs well and gets sent down.
I think Miromanov is the designated press box sitter. They probably didn’t want Kuznetsov/Bzrustewicz/Solovyov/Grushnikov doing that

I don't think Solovyev is the next Hedman here, I'm not delusional. But why lose a guy that is clearly much better than another? Solo essentially got a 15 game look at the NHL, while being a rock for the Wranglers.
Miro has had 64 games and counting. Outside of a couple goals he scored, he's been useless defensively. Just not good asset management IMO. You don't have to agree.
I agree with you. I do not get the love for Miromanov from the organization.

It’s not love for Miramanov imo. It’s that they hoped Soloyov could get more development time and/or neither factored into the long term plans of the team. Highly doubtful Soloyov played 65 games this year.

I don't think Conroy gives a hoot about how the Hanifin trade looks at this point. To think that he's compromising the organization, even a very small part of it, for the sake of personal pride/perception is out to lunch, in my opinion.

The Flames organization has had 4 seasons and 240+ AHL games to assess Solovyov. If he was clearly better than Miromanov, he'd be playing. None of which matters, because Miromanov, Bean, and Solovyov are only under contract for this season to placehold until next season when more talented prospects are challenging for FT jobs. None will be on the Flames roster next year. So who cares which of the three of them is in for 30-40 games this year?
The angst and hand wringing and anger that waiving Solovyov has caused is approximately 487,573 times more than is warranted.

The Quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little, and it will fail, to the ruin of all. Yet hope remains while the Company is true. Go Flames Go!
Kuznetsov had a strong camp by most accounts, better than Solo's.
Did he not do enough to graduate?
I'd rather have him back there over JB.
A factor in this could be the pairings and not wanting to have two rookies paired together.
If the coaching staff sees Rasmus-Bahl and Weegar-Hanley as established pairs (At least until Rasmus is traded) that means you have Zayne playing with a vet (Bean or Pachal) or another rookie (Kuznetzov). There is probably a desire to get the season off to a good start, including against a series of tough opponents, so leaning on your established top 4 is reasonable.
It's worth noting that the coaching staff has also be pretty complementary towards Bean in the pre-season. They seem happy with him.
I was relieved they didn't lose Kuznetzov on waivers. I think there is still a player there. But since they got away with it, the best thing is for him to go down and play big minutes.

A cop out excuse for Conroy..
Sending Solo through waivers over Miro was not about development time. Give me an f'n break here. Solo has been developed over years, consistently one of the best Wranglers top Dmen.
Can anyone in their right mind see more development for Miromanov?

Oh, I'm glad your opinion on how people should feel about asset management really influences people.
Not me, it's a gaff by Conroy. There's no angst, just a little concern. We're allowed to question decisions made my management. Even if this is a small one, it still speaks.
