Even strength is going to be rough on Zayne as he adapts to Huska’s style and the NHL. We already knew his defense is going to be a work in progress and we really need to shelter those minutes. This is why I hope he gets more ice time via PP1. Let him build confidence playing into his strengths and ease him along. Buium is already getting all the power play time in Minnesota but he may be a littler further along playing NCAA.
It’s not like the status quo power play qbs have been lighting it up the last few years.

This. I want to see Parekh and Weegar cemented as a pairing all season long. Parekh is too young and worried about making mistakes to be out there with a weaker partner. He sees things that someone like Bean is unable to see, which prevents him from capitalizing becuase Bean won't be able to make the same read, leaving a hole on the backend.
I know I sound like a broken record, but sticking Parekh on the 3rd pair with a 6-7 guy is the same as burying Bennett on the 4th line wing and then telling everyone he's not playing well enough to get a promotion.
Who buys a Ferarri just to chain a bus to the back of it? The Flames do.

the Habs lived with Lane Hutson's early season mistakes and just kept playing him; tons of minutes, PP time to play to his strengths, and by Thanksgiving, he was deadly. Flames need to take a page out of the Habs development playbook
